No, it is NOT a synthetic. It is a dino oil with a Group V (ester) additive.

Group IV's and V's are true pure synthetics.

One thing I realized today after the oil change:

The oil temp got up to 110 degree in traffic. Wasn't particularly hot today nor I was driving any faster than normal. Didn't recall the car hit 110 degree before even on a hotter day. But it got down to 100 fairly quickly once the car was moving.

Anyone experience this?

Perfect I've been looking for the facts on this and I've only found happenstance and conjecture. Can you point me to where it states for a fact its dino oil?

Yeah, where are you getting this info? Group V ARE synthetics.

I've read the Bob is the oil guy threads. Don't recall any evidence stating its dino oil based...

Oh no its all good. I've just been looking for the info and 09370Z has the facts on it so I'm just waiting on a link since I couldn't track the info down myself.
