Road Trip
Just finished 4500 km trip from Alberta to BC (Vancouver Island). Saw lots of cars along the trip including many Porsche's (~ 3 Caymen's, 6+ Boxters, 10+ Carrera's), BMW Z4's (10+), Corvette's 10+, Lamborghini 1, Mercedes... lots, 350Z 2, 300Z 5, .... and one 370 Z. The one 370Z was on Vancouver Island (Black - Sport Coupe) which I saw on the inland highway on August 7. My brother saw it parked at the Comox Home Depot on Monday August 10. Sure not many of the Z's on the road compared to all the other "exotics". A few comments, lots of stares, and LOT's of fun.
Anyone else have a road trip report from the summer? |

Have the touring coupe, with no sport, and ride was great. Noise was not too bad as long as you were not on heavy pebbled pavement. If you were on the heavy pebbled road, stereo went to a higher volume and everything was okay (except my ears for the long term). Thought the road noise might be an issue, but really was not. It was great having lots of passing power, and handling to go with it.

I know what you mean about the "unfinished" roads. I hate the "particle noise" you get when driving on them.
Hey did you know that the rev-match function also comes with a shift-up indicator and digital gear display? I dont miss the wheels or the brakes and I actually do not like the spoiler but I sure do miss that function. How's your rev-matchin ability? I'm having a hard time heel-toein' but regular rev-match downshifts are fine. I'm only drivin mine 1000KM so far, She's still brand new but I did opt for the NAV package and I'm dying to take her somewhere before the summer ends. I was thinking that mall with rides in it. I think it's in edmonton. |

The Rockies are pretty awesome to drive through. If you do you may as well come all the way out to Victoria. Bring WoZZer out with you though and we'll all go for that cruise I promised him

As for the car, I rode in a 370 with sport the other day and it seems like a harsher ride! People can call me stupid and crazy, but I swear - the wheels made everything a lot more "bumpy". I finally got to test out the syncro-rev, and boy; not many humans can downshift like that chip does. I've noticed that upshifting is actually smoother too, like it almost "holds" the throttle inbetween shifts. I wouldn't like to keep it on tho, it kinda ruins the magic. On a separate note, that space where the "sync-rev match" button would be is just itchin to be used though. I was thinking if I ever put NOS in my car (most likely will not) the space between the heated-seat buttons would be a good place to have the "arm" switch and the "syncro-rev" button would be good place to have the actual button (either RED or GREEN in colour). If you didn't opt for the NAV, the area where the screen would go would be a good place to set up the cans. |

Did the exact same road trip as you this summer with the gf. Went from Calgary to Victoria and spent some time at the Okanagan. Beautiful drive and saw 3 R8's and 2 Ford GT's. If you hit the weather that can be one of the nicest drives.

We picked up our Z’d touring with the sports package, just before the September long weekend. We then took it for a 2,000 km trip into BC and back home to the Hat. It was fantastic, the car keep pace with the sport bikes through the mountain corners to Revelstoke, then south to Nelson and then back to the Hat. The Kootenay roads were made for the car. Lots of corners, curves and hills. The car drove like it was on rails. We are off to the Island in a couple weeks and hope to take the 370, if the passes stay snow free. Cheers

Anyone drive the roads (Pacific Rim Hwy 4) out to Uclulet or Tofino? I remember towing my boat up there and wishing I had a faster well cornering vehicle. Next Summer I'm going to hopefully do a drive up there.
