Z's moter breaks.
well it let go at St Thomas Race way in the semi finals of the mustang grudge match racing day.
the oil light came on and it would not go over 2500 rpm. lots of noise from the front cam gears and clunking from the bottom of the motor. Got the 3rd place trophy. it was my run agaist the 2014 GTR. dialin was 10.80 vs my 12.8 |

Sounds like oil pump failure followed by the rest of your engine tearing itself apart.

i agree i think the oil pump failed.
GTM has my spare motor and im having him ship it up here. The dealer tried to get me warnety but it got turned down. moter has too many mods on it. Z |

Were you running a higher than stock rev limit?

yes , ive been shifting at 8000 limiter is set at 8100.
talked to GTM on sunday . he is trying to convince me to build a 11.1 compresion 4.2 stroker. to go with my stage 3 SC. its alot of $$$$$.$$ and to put my june cams in that motor. it wouild be a monster at 12 lbs boost. est is around 600 rwhp. |
That's a lot of compression for a boosted motor. I trust Sam, that just seems a little high.

All depends what fuel you have access to and want to run I guess. With a 11 to 1 I would imagine you are going to be in race fuel territory to make that power. Why not go lower and just bump up boost? Little less torque I guess, but with drag racing you are always up in the higher rpms anyways.

All the high compression is going to get you is better off-boost performance, right? Also, are you going with a different oil pump or lowering the rev limit.

Wouldn't it end up making more power if you lowered the compression and spun the hell out of the SC?
