Default 2013 Peal whit w/sports package lease... offer from dealership

here what ive got so far..... i wanted a base white manual, but none availble and would take 3 months to order. i could go black, but leaning towards white w/sports package (6MT)

dealers offer
(no need to debate whethe lease is better than finance, for various reasons i have no choice but to lease)

48 months
$5000 down
$671 per month tax in

Residual (buyback) 18563$ + tax

$671 is $32/month cheaper than what the nissan.ca calculator gives you on MSRP.

prolly not shuch a hot deal!?

-------------------

EDIT: once again note that in canada, the base starts (sticker price) at $40,978 + 1740 freight . Invoice price is said to be $37,732 ($3250 profit for dealer based on sticker price)

i ended up going with a black on black base 6MT for $38,478 before freight and taxes...$2500 off sticker . Dont think it could have gotten any lower than that seeing i left dealer with around $700 profit.

48 month lease? If you purchase the car with 5k down what would your monthly be over 48 months?

Check the difference and if it isn't much you might consider purchasing it since you'll at least get some of your money back if you sell it after 48 months..

Edit. Sorry, saw you said you have no choice but to lease, disregard.

No choice but to lease so you're gonna have to pay the piper. Are they basing your lease on full MSRP or are they offering you a discount? Too bad your options are limited. Or, lease a slightly used 2012 Z with warranty remaining?

If they know you have to lease, you're gonna pay.

i have the choice now of $660/month for a white or black w/sports package or $590/month black on black base. Both 6MT with $5000. APR is 5.25% which is included as well as freight and tax in the price

canadian MSRP is 7-8000$ more than in US from what ive seen

Hmmm, for $70 more a month, I might spring for the $660 to enjoy some of the sport features

However, 590 is enticing granted its a base. If you plan on keeping it after leasing or plan to really enjjoy what the Z has to offer, I'd go with the sport.

I will say Manoir Nissan in Repentigny treated me really well and may have some good deals but I live Downtown so don't venture out there. Metro Nissan in Lasalle is where I go now.

When you get back into a Z, you should check out Montreal VQ (in my signature)

Leasing is much cheaper. If you don't plan on keeping it for 10 years+ that's a great deal. Financing would be well over $1000 month before they add the interest!! (5 year)

The deal is terrible, you've got to negotiate that down...

$671/mo x 48mo = $32,208 + $5k down = $37,208 + $18,563 (buy back) = $55,771 total if you decide to keep your car. What is that like almost $20k over MSRP for sport package in the US? $12k if you factor in your $8k price increase. Seems ridiculous to me.

Now I know lease agreements are sour deals anyway but you do your best not to get the shaft in the end (pardon the pun).

I don't know what kind of crazy planet you come from but any number of websites will break down for you how financing a car for three years and SELLING it makes a significant difference in the amount of money you spend total when compared to leasing (which is ALWAYS a bad idea for personal vehicles).

Lets say his OTD is 45,000 for a base + sport (This is based on my OTD + the 8k difference OP pointed out). If he puts 5k down like the lease says then (45,000-5000)/60mo (5yrs)= $666.67 monthly payment + whatever your APR is.

No idea where you got $1000. Even if he was at 50K for a base+sport (WHAT!?) it would still be somewhere in the neighborhood of $833/mo.

I hate people that insist that leasing is a good idea because, at best, you're delusional and actually believe the drivel you're spouting and, at worst, you're outright lying.

There are pros and cons to leasing. One advantage to lease is that you can drive a new car for less per month but you turn the car in at the end of the term and you are left with nothing. Your basically paying the depreciation on the car over the term of the lease plus interest plus monthly sales taxes. Leasing is not for everyone but purchasing may not be either.

In Canada, where the original thread came from, the 2013 270Z is around $58,000+ 13% sales tax + interest @4.99% OAC!!!! Do the math, it adds up fast!!

I did the math based on what the OP said for the price difference. If it's something different I can't help that.

There is no 'base' model in Canada if your comparing it to a base model in the US. Our base model is the 'touring' model with Bose, leather, LSD, etc.

370Zvetlana, you did well getting $2500 off MSRP.
