When I picked up my RX-8 from the dealership in 2007, it was filthy. I should have refused the vehicle but I took it to a car wash. I discovered it was so covered with trail dust that the car actually had 2 tones of black.
Agincourt Mazda said they would detail the car for me and fix the problem...I went back the next day and the car was dirtier than when I first picked it up...went back the next day again only to discover that their "detail expert" had buffed the car with a drill buffer as hard as he could and that he did his best. THEY GROUND ALL THE SEDIMENT INTO THE FINISH! They had never heard of claying a vehicle. Lesson learned. I'll be far more discriminating when I pick up the 370Z and they will be claying the vehicle before I accept it for delivery. I stll have the RX-8 and will be keeping it but it will be needing a new paint job before its time. |

Dealer prep is awful. I never let dealers touch my cars. I don't even let them wash them. If you let a dealer wash your soft clear coated Z, you will have marring in your paint. A mitt or heaven forbid a brush that has been used on countless vehicles, is not a smart move. The kids they have washing, and detailing for that matter, have no clue as to what a proper job is. Even if they did they are not allotted enough time to do it in. If you care about your paint don't let them touch it. The VW dealer where we take the Jetta now has signs that say do not wash. Previously I made my own .

Also, I too went to Maple Nissan and truthfully, I didn't get the best deal. I acutualy wasn't looking for one! I signed comfortably close to MSRP for the following reasons: -brand new model car for the year -I work very hard at my job but the recession hasn't hurt me the way it's hurt a lot of car dealers. -3 month MAX wait time for this car to still be new for the model year seem reasonable (I've seen enough 2010 model cars out now that I consider 2009 "not new" anymore) If my contract voids (end of july) I will present my new offer to Maple which is Canadian BASE + NAV - out the door @ 48590 ($43000 before taxes). If I were to not include tax, this figure would be a $1707 discount including their "standard" $399 security etch. Does anyone have any advice or opinions? |

Yea tell them to stick their engraver up.... never mind... that's rediculous. I got mine for free without even asking for it - otherwise I'd say forget it.

If my car does get here before months end, no regrets. I've played almost every current racing game building my perfect 350, I can't wait to 'do it for realz'. |

I would wait to see the price of the 2010 370z roadster. This way, you "might" get an idea of the 2010 370z.
If you didn't get a good deal on the 2009 370z and the summer time is ending soon, 2010 model might not be a bad idea, but nobody knows for sure of the price for the 2010 models. Could be more (I believe), could be less (highly highly doubt), could be the same (you never know). |

Your "3 month limit" might be optimistic for this particular car. I think most, if not all, are waiting considerably more than 3 months for factory orders. Good luck.

83 days and still waiting. The only dealer update from Nissan was "built, in port" in early June. Since then, nothing.

YamahaR6, You mentioned that your Nissan dealer was able to give you the status or your car. I just got off the phone with my dealer and they have no idea what the status of my order is. They say they have no way of finding out either. They also don't know if i will get an 09 or 2010 car. I think it is pretty obvious that it will be a 2010.
