New to the forum!
Hey guys,
I've been lurking for a couple months, ever since I picked up my car in May, just thought I'd say hello. I <3 my 370z, but seeing some of the pictures and some of the conversation on upgrading has got me a little worried about future withdrawals from my bank account! I have a couple quick questions that I was hoping you might be able to help me out with (I have gone through old threads to hunt for information as well):
Appreciate the help! |
welcome to the forum. you should come out to some of our meets. Check out the GTA meet coming soon thread for the Sep. 3rd details.
1. for curb rash i got some too, havent bother to fix it. I know alcheng has gotten his fixed, by his mechanic. might want to talk to him. 2. paint chips on the front bumper are a pain in the ***. if its just a scratch in the clear coat, you could go all out and get some fine sand paper and sand it down then re apply some clear coat on it. if its deeper than clear coat then buffing it out would be a bit harder. Probably a proper repaint would be needed. That being said it wont be long before you get more chips on it. If you really want to save your front bumper, get it freshly repainted or completely retouch by a paintshop (might want to talk to Phil from alphawerx , his name on the forum is AWX Z34), and then get a 3M clear bra for the entire bumper. Full repaint and full wrap of the bumper would probably set u back around $1000, depending on who does it and where you go. Personally i wouldn't go with the cheapest option, but rather the highest quality one. These guys Auto-Links : Toronto Tint, Window Films, Alarms, Stereo do window tinting and all sorts of wrapping. I had my tint done with them, high quality work with high quality materials. Then again you have a grey car so dings and chips wont be as obvious, i got a black z and let me tell you everything is visible on that **** from close up. |

jk jk Welcome to the forum... For your first question, yes, I visit a tech in Yorkdale area and they can fix your rim on site, they do it on their driveway in a truck, good price and very nice people, they do good job though, and will explain details with you. PM me if you need their info or phone number. 2nd, there are two ways you can fix the problem, 1st, touch up paint the spots and bring it to VentureShield the bumper. 2nd, order DR.ColorChip and repair those spots in detail then VentureShield your bumper. There is a debate between "to be or not to be" on VentureShield the bumper, because it is costly, cost about $500ish for a full bumper wrap. Some people say skip it because it only costs $300ish to repaint the while thing, and some say wrap it cos it's peace of mind, I am the latter. One thing I want to say about VentureShield the bumper is because you don't need to worry about the stone chip, and especially when you have to wash/rub those bugs.. tars off the bumper, you don't need to worry about damaging the paint because you are rubbing on the shield, that's important especially if you drive on highway a lot. The other point is even you can repaint the bumper for less cost, you might as well have to worry about the color match (ie 'old' color on the hood vs shiny new paint on the bumper), need to rent a car for couple days (rental cost)... Well, you can do the math and thinking.... :icon17: |
