If you're going to buy-back this car at the end of the lease, then no it's a terrible deal. That's because the total price would be $53251. I bought mine outright for $46374 (all in).
If all you're doing is leasing... well my thoughts are that it's no different than a glorified rental. But if you're going to write-off the lease for a business expense...(?) My 2 cents

I discussed leasing with the GM of my dealership and he told me flat out that with today's interest rates and Nissan not having any incentives, that there is no way leasing should even be an option. You don't mention which model you are having and what the price is, but if you have good credit, you are probably better off buying in this environment. With the falling values of cars in the used market, manufacturers are getting hit really hard on lease turn ins, so they aren't real excited to give any good deals.

Think of it this way. MSRP + $800 (Fees, Color) * 13% Tax = $46102.87.
Your cost $33300 of 3 years leasing and deposit. So after 3 years, the remaining of the car cost is $12802.87. In order words, if you buy the car now, I am pretty sure u can sell the car for more than $12802.87 after three years. Of course interest is also a factor, but even at a rate of 5.9%; the interest for 3 years is around $6000. Anyways, hope I am making sense here. Correct me if I am wrong. $33,300 for use of the car for 3 years is not a good deal at all imo.
if you buy outright and sell after 3 years, you'll save $8,000 at minimum. Last edited by matt2112; 06-24-2009 at 11:01 PM. |
