All it takes is 2 or 3 laps at a serious pace for the temp to reach critical levels and limp mode activates. Cooler air doesnt help much because the engine bay is quite airtight so not much airflow goes in. Also the oil is up there inside the engine block completely isolated from airflow anyway.
I admit, I was lol. IIRC the last time I tracked with the Z was when the car only had ~3500KM on it, still trying to run it in, so I was more like cruising instead of tracking lol.

Well I'm suppose to be @ the track this weekend with buddies again, I'll see if I hit limp mode quick this time.

Wondering if I should put in a bigger oil pan along with the oil cooler to have a little bit more oil running.

engine is already pretty low. a bigger oil pan may be vulnerable to getting hit and cracked by rocks on the road

Which track are you guys renting time at? I would love to do a few laps in the Z. Can anyone just bring there car to the track or do you have to do some of there performance driver training first?
