Cars impounded after Vancouver speeders hit 160 km/h - British Columbia - CBC News

RandyD 07-25-2012 10:41 AM

street racing = pretty stupid..

but that was only 100 mph... could have been a lot worse. i'm sure we all know that our cars handle well at that speed.

dumb arzzez...I bet they have some proud parents...nice cars tho

Snakes709 07-25-2012 11:07 AM

I bet its the same kids that got busted awhile ago with the top end cars. The kid with the Z, probably had a GTR before but his parents probably took it away and give him a Z.

LMBmikeZ 07-25-2012 12:54 PM

Haha you guys need to read more threads. Also who cares if he was speeding if u don't actually hurt anyone or anyone's property then you have committed no crime! Learn your rights people these statute charges are all BS as to the person who was impounded I think I know who you are. If you want any tips feel free to pm. I can say to you all that I have not paid a speeding ticket for he last 2-3 years if you learn your rights and the law you can win every time.

3 basic common laws

1- do not harm anyone
2- do not damage anyone's property
3- do not commit fraud in your contracts

If you have done none of the above then are you really liable????

As for them impounding your car, well that's a violation of the Canadian charter of rights! Also they can be sued under queen bench for the misconduct they have committed.

.c2 07-25-2012 01:47 PM

^Good luck taking advice from him. With your logic, you can't possibly get ticketed for anything unless you get into an accident then. Few easy examples that doesn't fall into those '3 basic common laws', but you will easily get ticketed for;
-No front plate
-Rolling stop @ a stop sign
-Speeding
-Street racing

The list can go on and on and none of it will fall into any of those 3 points you mentioned unless it reaches a very extreme case. Of course the no front plate thing can never fall into any of those points.. but you still get a $118 ticket for it.

EDIT: Lol I just read through the article and found it kinda funny..

“Traffic fortunately was light,” Thiessen said. “This could have had disastrous effects. I mean, these young drivers don't have the skills to be operating these kinds of high-end vehicles at those speeds.”
No sh*t traffic was light at 2:30am, but I'm almost 100% sure that the driver of the Amuse 370z could easily handle that speed. If I'm not mistaken, he tracks his car as well? We all know that 160km/h feels like nothing in this car

LMBmikeZ 07-25-2012 01:59 PM

You my friend need to look at this a completely different way. You only fall under there jurisdiction if you allow it. If you start to study common law and jurisdiction issues you will know where I am coming from but since 98-99% of the public has no interest in these things I cannot relate or begin a conversation ok an issue you know nothing about.

For starters have any of you ever actually read the highway traffic act? Most likely not. Where does it say that you even need a license? It only says you need one if you are a driver which is defined in law as a person who is hired to transport cargo or paying customers(fares). But if you are traveling with family or friends under no contract and not being paid then you do not even require a license, it is your inherent right to travel as you please! The government has been deceiving the public and why wouldn't they it works at a success of 98-99% just look at the court records.

Also anyone know anything about bill c-11 and c-30? That is some scary ****! Tell me that's not against the charter of rights :shakes head:

Really? So, with that logic, I could come to your house when you are not there, watch TV for a while, and leave, and that would be no crime since I did not hurt you?

LMBmikeZ 07-25-2012 02:27 PM

No the USA to look into your constitution and some of the sovereign movement. People don't realize how much the government has been deceiving us all!

One of the first things it says in the charter of rights

Everyone has the right to freedom, justice and security of the person.....

Right off the hop as soon as they confront you they have breached the peace. If they have not observed you breaching the peace (breaking one of the 3 main laws) ten they have no right to even bother you, for you have not breached the peace!

At the rate things are going we will soon be under martial law and that's f*cked no where in either constitution did we agree to that! Things are getting crazy and more and more we are hearing about areas being under a police state! Wtf for real that is illegal and unconstitutional if we allow this they will have powers(at least think they do) just like nazis had! I know it's a Canadian issue but just look at the news about Quebec and the protests that have been going on since March-April. Or the F-1 event where it was under police state and they were arresting tourists! Wtf!

They also passed a law(statue) that made it illegal for groups 8 or larger(might have been 10) to travel or participate in events without a flight plan submitted to the police station 48 hours ahead of travel. Otherwise they were subject to jail. This again violation of charter of rights. I mean jail with no trial for real? This applied to tourists even! They say this is to help protect us from terrorists and such but I only see them acting as the terrorist!

No trespassing is considered damage of property.

As for th bad *** comments. I am far from it. Just a man tired of having the government crew us around and think that is ok. So I gave taken up an interest in law, common law, blacks law definitions, ontarios acts and statues, human rights and the magna carta

Thanks though

this is exactly why other people are not allowed to drive at reckless speeds on the public motor way.

you are looking at this the wrong way......

yes it is wrong to do such a thing, but if you have not injured any party where is the crime? I am only saying that there's ways to fight this.

yelling fire when there is no fire would also be an act of fraud and endangerment to public(so harm to a person). same as threatening some one.

Lol thread's starting to turn into some conspiracy thing..

Well, from what I hear the car was impounded for a week and a $400ish ticket was issued? It does suck but it could have been a lot worse. At least you're not being forced to forfeit your car like another similar incident that occured a few months ago in van.
With so many reports the past few months of a group of ppl speeding and then getting caught and their cars impounded (r8, gtr, maserati, m3, porsche, etc), people in GVA should think twice before going for spirited drives like this

SmallermouseZ 07-25-2012 08:44 PM

Let me see. According to you and your buddy, as long as no innocent victim was killed or injured this time around, then it was ok to break the the law i.e. speeding. So the logic is that.... there is no logic. You're both on bad drugs.

Car impounded? Forfeiture is a lot worse? Grow up. A lot worse is someone being killed. Sheesh, I can't believe the BS in this thread. Some of you in here are not responsible enough to have a driver's license...which is a privilege, not a right, even under the Charter of Rights. So suck that up!!!
