Poll - GTA GB for oil cooler
Last week at the ertefa meet we had a good z34 showing. We had talked about setting up a group buy for an oil cooler kit. So I wanted some feed back as to which size you guys wanted to go with. As well as any preferences for which brand to!
I'll go first, personally I would like to go with a 34 row oil cooler kit. Nismo one preferably. |
It's a good idea, but I'm out. I'm going to buy a Boosted Performance turbo kit which comes with an oil cooler.
If I was buying one now it would be the AE Performance oil cooler. |
You will need to contact AK370Z for approval
It is strictly prohibited to launch group buys unless you're vendor (or have pm'ed me first to grant permission or pay a one time fee) http://www.the370z.com/parts-sale-pr...ied-rules.html |
Huh? Wait, what?

I am not even doing the group buy??? I have talked with some vendors to see if they could supply it. I only am asking other members what kit they would prefer if we are going to get a group buy organized.
This was just an attempt to gather people's opinions and see where we stand numbers wise so that we can communicate with a vendor to get one for us up here north of the boarder.............. Lock it if you must, but I don't see what I am doing wrong. Not selling anything just asking for peoples opinion/preference.:ugh2: |
Triple..
Please do understand. All we're trying to do is to find enough people so we could get some better pricing from vendors. In no way is LMBmikeZ making any money off this GB. Anyways. I've done loads of researches and I would suggest going for the Z1 kit. Here's from info some of my research... Stillen: Pros: Have a choice between 19-row and 25-row. Cheaper if you use their "Gold" series instead of the Setrab ones Cons: mounts on Passenger side per their installation guide(??) and will be stacking with the steering wheel cooler. Requires to use a specific oil filter type (Per their instruction, Fram Oil Filter #PH3950 or equivalent) AAM: Pros: (??) Cons: Requires drilling the front crash bar (Won't work for FI applications that removes the bar "PHIL") Nismo: Pros: OEM Nismo. No drilling required. Cons: no thermostatic plate, unless purchased aftermarket from aftermarket companies like Z1, and $$$ Z1: Pros: Customizable. Cons: (??) All the ones with (??) are those that I'm not sure. |

This is 100% true I have no financial ties to any of the vendors, and we will be using a forum vendor to supply us with the GB. I have already had a few talks with couple of them, they just want to know more details for the unit so they can finalize there own details, so I started a thread to get feedback on what we all wanted....... I to have been looking, and re-looking still lol. I am liking the Z1 kits to! I like that they can offer all sizes to....... |
i have the GTM cooler + the greedy oil pan.

Thank You for making it perfectly clear. carry-on :tiphat: |
Go with the 34 row since you can always put a blocking plate if too cold and remove it for track duty if need be. I have the Z1 kit and I did just that for the road. Blocked it off with 3" plate resulting at 20-32C ambient, it'll never get pass 100C during stop and go.

hmmmm.... I have the Stillen 19 row and was able to mount it easily on the driver/centre area of the front support. Just have to move the ambient temp sensor away from the cooler.
The need for 24/34 row coolers is limited to those who track their cars really. My 19 row is perfect for DD and will handle hard driving and stop and go traffic no problem. The larger coolers may be an issue with over cooling.... it takes a long time for my oil to come up to temp already! Better suited for southern states and heavy track days IMHO |
Anyone with a Z1 kit can chime in?
