and I'm pretty sure the giant gas tank under the ground isn't affected that much by gas expanding and contracting lol

besides.. if you fill up at night it's just as cold (if not colder) than in the morning.

if im not mistaken the gas tanks underground are pressurized and keep the fuel at a constant temperature. If it were to expand the tanks would rupture. if you have the automatic and drive a lot best way to keep fuel consumption under wraps is to use the tip tronic and up-shift at 2600rpm, and keep the car at the highest possible gear at all times. The fully automatic mode takes in the throttle position as a variable and will let you rev up the engine in 3rd up to 4500rpm if not a bit more, before shifting to 4th,5th,6th, assuming you stop accelerating once you reach 60km/h. the mileage i got on my last tank was 9.2L/100km so its definitely doable.

I average 13.6L/100km with Toronto driving in traffic with some highway. I also drive aggressively so I don't expect it to get much better.

Just checked my fuel consumption on my vette - 34L/100 km. My tank holds 63 L. That equates to a fill up every 180 km if I run it to empty.
