Can you drive a 370 all year round in Vancouver?
Hi
I'll be moving to Vancouver (from overseas) in August/Sept. I'm planning on getting a 370Z (auto, sports pack). My job will require quite a bit of driving around Vancouver: city and suburbs. I have read here that a lot of Canadian members garage their cars over the Winter months. If I buy a 370Z, I won't have that option, it will be my only car. Is a 370Z practical in Vancouver all year round? Do I need to get "snow tires" fitted for the Winter months? Any advice would be huge appreciated. |
I boiught a brand new Z last year and drove it all winter with no winter tires. Vancouver winters are very mild. It rains a lot, but very little to no snow.
Having said that, the few days of snow we do get you would not be able to drive the Z with summer tires. I have a second car so the odd day it did snow I drove that. Like I said, its a warm climate. Throw on some snow tires for the few days of snow we do get and you will be fine. I drove mine all last winter and was even washing ti in my yard up until December. |
Vancouver doesnt actually snow a lot. you get 2 to 3 days with medium snow and the other days are like slush and rain. But i drive an awd so im not sure about the z.
But if 2008 repeats itself you'd have some difficulty getting around for a few days. |
Super, thanks for the info. Much appreciated.

Yes, just get snow tires or a good all season for the winter months.

Some snow tires and you will be fine.
I drove my G all winter through snow storms and everything. My G is also lowered lol. No problems. |
I drove my Z all winter in Edmonton when i had it. Even in -50*C, it still fired up and drove fine. You just need a good set of winter tires.

yep, drive my Z in snow with summer tires. no problem

with windchill yea but that doesn't have an affect on the car when it comes to cold starts |
Did u put winter tires on ur sport rims?
|
Well you technically could with snow tires, but it's not recommended and you probably wouldn't want to drive it in the snow.
