2013 370z Nismo in Canada
Hi
In the market to buy new 370z in Canada. I love the looks and the small performance extras of the Nismo, but they don't seem to be available here, heard rumors that they may come back to Canada in 2013, any truth to that? Also kinda torn between the touring , sport and Nismo. Like I said the looks of Nismo are awesome, but it doesn't offer the nav system or leather seats. Any suggestions? Thanks |

it depends on your personal preference. if you're thinking on changing anything on the exterior (lips, body kit, etc) i'd go for the sport version, coz most ppl who get the nismo its bcuz they like the exterior already and no need to change anything coz the only thing good about the it honestly are the wheels and the body. looks very nice. I bought the sport and im glad i did. added a lip kit, changed the wheels and done. Also Love the bose, leather seats, etc. its up to you
P.S.: Touring version sucks lol |

The Nismo has been available in Canada since last year actually. I'm not a big fan on the looks though. The miniscule performance difference, mostly from a slightly altered factory tune, has not produced a measurable performance difference, based on third party reviews. Nothing you can't match or exceed with basic bolt on mods and/or Uprev tune. Plus for the cost and the lack of nav and leather...I personally don't think it's worth it.
I would still get a Sport model with Navigation Pkg, which will give you the sport brakes (just like the Nismo), nav and leather. Go to Sherwood Nissan and speak to Kris Suchy (Sales Mgr). They'll set you up with whichever model you want. Happy shopping!

It was my understanding that the Nismo is gone in Canada again in the 2012 model year. It was only here for 1 year. Not sure why, probably poor sales, maybe demand elsewhere and limited supply due to Japan's production problems.
As for the car, IMHO, you don't buy a Nismo for performance. You buy it for the way it looks (and I agree with DJ, I don't like it at all). If performance is your goal, you are way better off buying a sport and putting a few extra bucks into intakes and an exhaust or a few other mods.

I couldn't stand the no-leather seats , although I like the front end. So I went with the sport-package. Kind of sad to see them discontinue it for Canada though, as I was actually looking for a nismo before I bought my sport package but I am happier than ever with it.

with you dizzy. It is my understanding that the Nismo was only offered in Canada for one model year, the 2011 and has since been discontinued for us up here......
OP if you are thinking of modding it in the future I would go with a fully loaded Z and then just add to it from there. If you are planning a track car I would buy the most base possible and add everything from that platform. Just depends which end of ownership you see yourself in IMO. That's how I made my decision planned on street use with mods to taste so I bought the Canadian 40th and will play with it from there. Have fun and good luck!

Whoa. Whoa. Whoa.
Everyone is forgetting a huge yet tiny detail. 2013Z is getting a minor refresh. All tuner parts right now are equiped for 09-12 Zs. As for navi. Im a 09 owner with nav. Great but lacking. Reasons. 1. Its out of date tech wise (even in 09). My moto atrix has a million times the clarity. And the atrix is barely a qHD display. 2. Center console has crap composite inputs and ipod dock. Well ipod dock is nice but does not charge iphone like it would an ipod. As for the video input, ive been using psp/ps2/ps3 all with composite (single yellow input) everything is very low res. 3. Screen is resesive touch as opposed to the greatly better capasitive (iphone/android). 4. Out of date after 1 year garuntee. No usb connection, maps cannot be updated. 5. There's littraly nowhere to put ur stuff. Hole with door would be nice. (With custom display under it) One more thing. I have the 09. Test/first year. Build quility is great but like any first year car, there wee a few minor bugs. Are u sure u wanna be 2013 test subject? Or find urself a nice 2010 40th or 2011 nismo and carbor fiber/air intake/exhaust/turbo/brembo the hell out of it with allllll the parts that are avail? Juss sayin' |

as everyone already pointed out it all depends on what you want to do with the car. I for example got the 2009 Base model, but thats because i want to make the car be the way i want it to be not the way nissan wants it. So the Sport Package goodies that they offer as good as they are, wont do me any good since i am changing those parts anyways. Personally i'm not a sucker for leather seats either so i have skiped on that option as well. I find the nav as Knux pointed out, equally useless and outdated, hence why i didnt get that either.
So my advice for you is figure out what you want to do with the car. If you just want to drop 50k and leave it as is, get the 2010-2011 or even 2012 + Sport-Package. Nismo i think would be overkill but if you like the body styling and can live with the lack of leather seats go for that as well. If you want to personalize your car then go for the 2010-2011-2012 Base/Touring model used with low mileage for anywhere in the 29-35k price range. Then you can take an additional 10k and make it the way you want it to be.

My 10 charges my 4S just fine with no messages or issues.
The NAVI isn't the best, you can do way better aftermarket and take out the crappy stereo at the same time. I just love the fit of it in the dash and I hate the little glovebox that's there if you don't have NAVI. Works great with the backup camera too (Forum member designed to work perfectly with the factory NAVI).
