Pretty sure the design for 2012 was changed. My car is stored for winter but I'm pulling that fuse the minute I drive it home when spring hits...

FYI:
My car (a US car) failed at 45,000 miles. Had dealer replace unit. Out $937.76. Emailed NISSAN USA. called Nissan USA. They called back and after a few more emails, they refunded me the $937.76. Take them on, they will work with you. |

Sorry, I'm old. Don't know how to do that BUT.
Used the NHTSA connection from the SLU failure thread. Found Nissan USA on the web. Used their contact e-mail. After first e-mail, an individual called me back. They said they would push it up the line. 10 days later no line. I sent a second e-mail and received a phone call back that day. They said they would get back to me. A week later they called back and said they had my info from the dealer and would push it up the line. I continually told them I was disappointed in the 370Z. That I had been a big Nissan owner for many years. This would be my last Nissan etc. 2 weeks later no response. I had called back a few times and left messages like "what's the status?", "you said you would get back to me and didn't", "I'm not going away". They sent me a survey re my problem and how it was resolved. My responses were very negative. The next day I received a call saying a check was in the mail and I'd receive it in 2-4 weeks. 5 days later I got it. I believe that Nissan will not make a 370Z recall, too expensive but refunding money to keep customers Nissan happy is something they will do. Good luck. |

This may be a dumb question, but all the threads I've read are confusing. Are 2010's affected? Also, is the voluntary recall campaign NTB13-014 being conducted in Canada? It seems some got notice of this but I've received nothing from Nissan. I read in a different thread that only some 2010's are affected. Anyone know?
Voluntary Recall

I'm not sure which countries/regions are affected but I think CA is on the list. Contact a dealer with your VIN and they can check to see if you qualify.

Guess I'll just head to the dealer. After doing some yoga under the dash to get a pic of the label (only way I was going to read that label with these old eyes was to get a pic and blow it up), it appears I have the 2nd gen Rev C
#48700-JF00C Production Date: 2009.10-2010.09 Seems 50/50 as to whether this one is being recalled or not. Rev A&B for sure, but not all Rev C's. I was hoping to go to the dealer armed with knowledge, but I guess I'll have to rely on them.

Pretty sure its 2009 and early 2010.
Since I was one the 40th owners trying to get my production number, I saw that my Z was manuafactured February 2010, so I faily confident if you are in the first half of 2010, you have REV A or B I also got the letter and ended up having it switched out a few weeks ago just as I was going to pull the fuse.

Went into the dealership last week and spoke to a service advisor. Showed him the SL recall notice as well as a notice I got in 2011 for the call waiting feature. Couldn't care less about that feature but figured I'd have it done since the car was going in anyway.
Booked an appointment for both recalls and said "please check that you have the SL part. I don't want to come in for the appointment and find out you don't have the part". (foreshadowing). He goes into the parts guys and comes back. "Yup we have it and I had them order another because we only have one". Go in for the appointment yesterday and dropped of the car. 5 hours later, buddy calls. "Your 370 is already, but unfortunately we need to rebook for the steering lock. He have to order the part". I almost lost it. Told him 'we' checked that you had the part when I booked the appointment over a week ago. He says he'll "double check" and get back to me. I'm sure he held the phone, waited 3 minutes and called me back to say no they don't have it. I go pick up the car and they can't find the paperwork or my key fob. Eventually, I get the key but not one person even bothers to apologize for wasting my time. Please Nissan, send me one of those annoying 'how was our service' e-mail surveys. And oh, please call me and leave a useless automated voice message too asking me to call the service manager if I'm not pleased with the total lack of service. /end rant. BTW - sorry for wasting your time reading this post - just needed to vent. ![]()
