I would get a g37x or used g35/7x.

My 07 g35x with all seasons drove better than my 2004 and 2011 fx 35s, BMW 335x and jeep wrangler rubicon.

By far the best winter car, I used to blast past everyone up hills. Being from Toronto and having a cottage in Innisfil, I have used it in the same conditions you will.

TerribleONE 01-04-2012 09:11 PM

+1 on the G37x sedan..

Zemurray 01-04-2012 09:50 PM

I wouldn't get the mb. They aren't very reliable

C09 01-04-2012 10:06 PM

IS250
- Slow (especially since you're getting Auto tranny)
- No space in the rear seats
- more available & cheaper parts (aftermarket, and OEM)

C300
- Looks better
- More power, and I feel it handles a little better vs the Lexus
- "looks" higher class vs the lexus

I've had both, but in RWD\Manual...
so, winters wasn't my strong season..

Neither. For that kind of money, go with one of these:

i would get C300 just cuz it looks way better IMHO

IDZRVIT 01-05-2012 06:41 AM

F-150 4X4 or similar. C'mon, get something that can do some work for you and get you where you wanna go!

your cottage is in innisfil!!! lol my parents live near the point.

LMBmikeZ 01-05-2012 10:21 AM

IMO I would also go with the g35/37x sedan I have here terrible reviews from owners of IS 250's and as for the c300 I just wouldnt want to have to deal with the MB dealer in my area.... Plus I think in the long run the MB would cost you more to maintain then the infinity.

I also herd on newer MB that an oil change has to be done by a shop because there engines are pressurized! So you need a special machine to set it back to normal pressure. Not sure if this is true but if so I would stay away for that reason alone! But I guess people who own Mercedes don't tend to do there own work to the vehicle.

Did we just agree on something?

m4a1mustang 01-05-2012 10:44 AM

I like the Merc over the Lexus but I'm with Pharm... STi!

nizmo370 01-05-2012 10:57 AM

once again get the wrx sti sedan !!!!! Turbo + awd ftw

LMBmikeZ 01-05-2012 01:58 PM

Wrx is a completely different class of vehicle though. To me it sounds like jazz is looking for something more of luxury sedan as a winter car....

Sibze 01-05-2012 03:50 PM

One little perk for the Lexus is that it uses SOME Toyota parts and therefore will be cheaper on repairs.

I would really look into an Infinite though. If you look at most luxury cars the Infinite will be less on repairs.

Is that really you lol. I thought you had a pick up truck.

Anyways, +1 in the STi sedan!!

Da.Menace 01-05-2012 09:26 PM

+1 STI Sedan for AWD sedan.

However, if luxury is what you're looking for, then the STI is not what you'd want, thanks to its cheap interior -.-

Both AWD on IS250 and C300 is a joke tho.

i dont need the sti power...i did look at the wrx hatch and sedan and the interior is cheap! still fun to drive.
my trade in is a audi tt awd...the best they have offered is 10200 for it. is that too low?

LMBmikeZ 01-06-2012 09:15 AM

What year and mileage? Just compare to others on autotrader and see what they are asking. IMO you always do better selling it privately, you will get more for it.

jazz 01-06-2012 09:25 AM

auto trader list are 13-16 for stock.
also have winter and summer wheels
coilovers, control arms, sway bars, exhaust.

does that hurt me? as a trade they said it hurts the value??

Mods never add any value when you sell to a dealer. Sometimes they detract value because it makes it harder for them to sell.

You'll get more if you sell it private party to someone who values the mods.

Pharmacist 01-06-2012 10:09 AM

if you still have the original parts, just unmod it. put it back to stock form, sell it to the dealer, and sell the aftermarket parts separately on ebay or something.

That.

Or, maybe you'll be lucky enough to find a dealer/sales that is willing to account for the modded parts too (A certain sales in T+C BMW did)

nizmo370 01-06-2012 11:16 AM

^ theres a site for selling modded cars. Its for people who want to sell their car as is and dont wanna return to stock. Ill try finding it and posting it here.

went and drove the 5 door today...i should not of!

the wrx and the sti feel very nice, didnt find that much difference in the power?? however...the wrx 4 doors felt slow? they did not have a 4 door in the sti.

shake head! might go sporty over classy lol.

nizmo370 01-10-2012 09:30 PM

^ hate to say it ... but i told you so i told you so i told you so i told you so lmaoo just kidding man. Nice choice. Personally for me it wouldnt feel right driving a nice luxurious car in winter with all the salt and **** :P

jazz 01-10-2012 09:47 PM

Its a differnt drive then the MB that I like a lot...it is raw! But fun! Andaa lot less cash!

Will I look like a punk in it? Or sshould I just roll in the audi tt for a bit more?

nizmo370 01-10-2012 09:57 PM

you can look like a punk in any car (ex. driving like a maniac trying to race everyone). Its really how you drive the car lol. Get the sti, you wont be disappointed. Its one hell of a machine.

Da.Menace 01-12-2012 03:28 PM

Guys... wanna get back to jazz's topic of which luxury sedan he should pick? :)

Exactly :iagree: I liked in here again and was blown away! You guys hijacked this thread like some jihads!

It I had to pick between the Lexus or Benz. IMO Lexus ftw.....

My real opinion is set on a G/M37x for my own purchase of a newer DD

BTW, if you do get an STI, don't mod it on the off chance that you do end up blowing up your engine. This way you won't be denied a warranty claim. Red Zed, for all his hollow bravado, will NOT be paying into your new engine fund in case something does happen and Subaru screws you over. :eekdance:

if i do go with the STI it will stay OME as its just the winter car. the Z is my mod car! full repaint and all!

Da.Menace 01-13-2012 12:24 PM

So jazz, has it really been decided on STI?

I recently test drove the Acura TL, and their SH-AWD is very, very nice (IMO). I purposely tried running around in cirlces while snowing, climbing uphill,, and didn't have much traction loss. The car was pretty much in control. However the snow was not deep enough for some deep snow testing.

Just another suggestion :)

jazz 01-13-2012 12:40 PM

its still up in the air! i did have the most fun in the STi. i do like the style of the c300 and it drove well. did not like the 335x! and the is250...just ok...and it does feel small in the back.

after doing some surfing...i saw the "ATS" (caddy)...might have to go to the car show and see it live!

IDZRVIT 01-14-2012 07:56 AM

The only Caddy I would consider is the CTS-V coupe. Almost had the wife talked into trading her Z in on one but she likes top down cruising.
