Call Waiting Feature Letter
Hello Everyone,
Did any other Canadian owners get a letter from nissan offering to upgrade your nav software so you can take advantage of a call waiting feature? I got mine this morning and plan on taking it in next week. It's nice having a car where this is the only notice i have gotten since owning it 1.4 years ago. I remember when I had my RX8 it seemed like I got a recall noticed every 3 months. lol Sam |
Do you have more info?? Is yours a 2009 2010 0r 2011 model??
|
Yep, got mine today (2010).
Strikes me as useless though because the hands free in the Z is a piece of junk. It's a complete waste of time. I can hear them fine, but they can't hear me at all. I can use it with very patient friends, but it's useless to try and have a call on and completely useless for business. I read a lot of complaints about how bad it is on the site - known fault. So Nissan, if you want to fix something with the freaking phone, how about installing a hands free system that works. Forget the bells and whistles and fix the mic so people can actually conduct phone calls on it. My Toyota handsfree is talking on my phone at home. I bought a portable handsfree bluetooth for the Z, had no other choice. Even the dealership says it's a known fault. |
Mine is a 2010 model.
Dizzy, if you get the software updated it is supposed to fix the issue you are having with people not being able to hear you. I think this is the real reason they are sending this letter out, like the reason behind the reason. Actually, I just saw an old US TSB bulletin about it that says the same thing. Check it out under TSB area. Take it in and let me know if it fixes the issue. |

2 things that bug me about my Z - the phone, and the sillyness of not having a hatch release inside the car. All that said, I guess I'll try the fix in the spring. I put her to bed for the long cold winter yesterday! |
Received the letter today but likely won't have this done until Spring. Please post the results - would like to know if this update fixes anything else, but more importantly, if is 'breaks' anything.
I'm always gun shy when it comes to software 'fixes'. Is it a longshot that maybe this includes a map update for the Nav? |
I hear you Dizzy. Nissan needs to own up.
I'm going to get the fix next week, only cause I'm getting an oil change to store her for the winter. I'll let you know how it goes. Sam |
Got a letter in the mail yesterday and booked an appointment for Friday.... will see what it does!
|
I didn't but I'll keep an eye out...
|
I didn't have nav in my '09 coupe nor in my '10 roadster but the bluetooth feature in both cars worked perfect with my cell phone. Hopefully the software will fix the problem as I doubt it's a hardware problem.
|
No problems here as long as my windows are up lol.
Although having call waiting would be nice. Hope I get the letter soon. Actually what do I care car is in storage saturday and will have to wait till spring before I take it in. |
i have no issues with hands free, works great in my car
|
Well I had the install done today but no difference noticed yet. The handsfree seemed a bit better when I called a buddy and asked his opinion. In car sound was fine, no issues. Will update as I find any difference....
|
Does the letter apply to all Canadian 2010 Z's? It would be awesome if something can post up the letter. My dealership won't help me upgrade the software.
Thanks. |
I can't possibly see it being VIN specific. This isn't to fix an issue, it's to install a feature that was never on the car to begin with. Also, I don't know if it would qualify as a TSB since this isn't a recall issue. It's totally optional whether or not you get it done.
If you car doesn't have call waiting, then this should apply to you. Here's the letter. 370Z Call Waiting Letter Call the number on the letter - Nissan Information Centre - 1-800-387-0122 |
