You will only save money if you buy the sports package brand new if your comparing it to a brand new Nismo. The fully-loaded coupe is around 52k out the door and the Nismo is about the same (brand new). The coupe with the sports package and no touring package is about 47k out the door.

I ordered mine from Alta Nissan/Infiniti in Woodbridge, not too far from you. Its at hwy 7 and 27. I've dealt with them for my G37 and for 2 other 350z's in the past. They're great people, no bullsh*t. If you're seriously interested in going there, I can put in a word with the manager for you. I'll just PM you to give you my name so you can let them know I sent you.

If the car was never registered, regardless of miles, it's not considered a used car. It is still legally new.

With a base price of $40,830 USD ($46,898 CA) for a new Nismo, $47,331 for a new car with 8000km doesn't sound like any kind of a deal at all.

We generally pay more $ for cars in Canada. The base price of a new Nismo here is about 49k plus tax. You're looking at around $51-52k out the door.

if you guys don't mind, could you tell me where you guys purchased your 370 and for what price as well as the dealer you dealt with?

Could you guys also give me a suggestion as to what negotiation deals I can get right now for a brand new 370 with sports package with the msrp at 44898 plus taxes at 1.9%. You think they would sell at invoice?

$47,331 is WAY out of the ball park for a car with 8000k on it and stone chips....WAY out! The dealer is out to lunch if they think it's worth anywhere near that.

MSRP is $47,032 for a brand new Nismo

For some reason, the web site doesn't show Frieght on the Nismo but I have to assume the regular $1600 cash grab. That should put MSRP around $48,600. So they've dropped it $1k? That insane. I could order a brand new one for less than that without any problem (If hey are stil shipping them).

I bought my 2010 last year in September. End of the year, dealer was a friend of a friend and everything lined up perfectly. I paid below dealer invoice for mine (only because factory had incentives back to the dealer). My sales reciept showed MSRP for an M6 Sport Nav @ $48,898 (List and Freight). I know from doing my research back then that dealer invoice was $44,891. I paid $44,620 for my Z - below dealer invoice. Now, that was because I knew the dealer through a friend it was a no BS deal. He was up front that he was getting healthy incentives from the factory and was quite clear he was making his profit. I couldn't care less, I got an amazing deal below invoice. As a matter of fact, if I would have taken different colour, I could have gotten it for less but I wouldn't take anything other than white.

You have a lot of other variables that will effect your purchase. For instance, you mention financing. That immediately puts your ability to deal at a disadvantage. You'll always get a better price with a cash deal.

Back to the Nismo. Average mark up would suggest to me that a new Nismo is costing the dealer somewhere around $43,550. Add the $1600 in frieght and his cost should be around $45,150.

Consider there's usually about an 8% mark up on a new car from invoice to MSRP. That's been pretty standard on the Z (at least it was when I did my research in 2009/2010). Basic rule of thumb for a fair starting point in my books is half of that - 4%. Anything I succeed at getting beyond that is good gravey! So at a 4% mark up, I wouldn't consider paying a penny more than $46,956 + taxes for a brand spanking new order!

Now look at 8000K and stoine chips and in my books, you're down around the 40,000 mark in reality. Why would you pay anywhere near fair retail for a used chipped up car? I wouldn't even consider it in the first place. Stone chips would drive me insane. I'm a year later with 16,000k on mine and there is a chip on it (thanks clearshield).

The dealer can't expect to make a profit on a car with $8000 and stone chips so he has to expect less than invoice ($45,150).

Now add in end of season jitters about carrying stock through the winter and the price just keeps dropping.

On the bad side, availability isn't what it was last year due to stock problems after Japan's problems. That gives a slight advantasge back to the dealer.

Don't let the desire to grab that car let you pay too much. Do your research. Call around and find out whats out there stock wise. Find a dealer that will work with you and they'll tell you whats out there in a few seconds. You should easily be able to get a brand new Nismo for around 47K without even trying hard if there's stock out there.

Rare - maybe, reports were they were only going bring around 60 to Canada. As mentioned, the dealer will play that card as "collectable" but as mentioned, they aren't. They won't hold their value any better than a Sport IMHO.

I would not pay more than 40000 for it..
What is black book price for the car with 8000 km. on it and a car thats almosty 6 moths old,
40000 is still a high price.
consider, tire ware.
when was the oil changed . ask for the records. did they put in reg oil or ester?
ware and tare on brake pads?
does it need and alignment ?
and i can assure you that car was driven hard .
engine brake in, any oil consumpion issues.
I would walk away from that deal.
front bumper replacement and new hood ( stone chips ) and a paint job ,will the new paint match the orginal.
Run away fro that deal/

Not true in Toronto....maybe in Halifax. I've seen base models here at the dealership (Canadian models) with no leather, no nav, and the 18's.

I don't have pics but I've seen it in the showroom. If you don't believe me, go to the Nissan Canada website and configure one for yourself. Both the sports package and Nav package are options. Here's the link:

I bought my car in the U.S. last year, basically when it came out. I lived in the U.S. for awhile and was not use to the car prices here, to be frank it was too expensive, I shopped around for a long time and no one would budge on price. I saved a bit over 10K buying it in the States.

Regarding the Nismo 370z that has 8000KM, I think you may have made a mistake by showing too much interest in it. I'm guessing the sales guy is trying to sell it to you at that price because he knows you want it and it's limited. If you don't intend to drive it in the winter really I think it may be wise to wait. Yes it's limited but if the Nismo sold well I'm confident that Nissan will bring more over.

Things to keep in mind.
1. Summer is over they want to clear out inventory, meaning reduce MRSP and possibly lower interest for 2010/11 inventory.
2. More car that sits in their lots the more interest their paying, try to go deal with them near the end of the month. First off ask them how long it was sitting in the dealership for, if it was for 1 month their willing to wait and see who would buy it at MRSP. However if they respond saying it sat there for 4 months you have an advantage.
3. Car is in pretty bad condition for a new vehicle, would negotiate with them to fix the dings and possibly ask for extended warranty.
4. Go to another Nissan dealership and inquire for a Nismo, see what pricing they give you and not to mention they can get Nismo from other dealerships.

Brutal, I've bought two 370Z's already. The Cdn base model that sells for MSRP $40,898.00 is a touring model with Bose, leather, limited slip differential. There is no other lesser base model available in Canada.

Anyone else in here from Ontario or elsewhere seen an American type 'base' model in the showrooms? It would be nice to see a base model that would sell up here for what, $36K maybe?
