Dealers Not taking anymore custom orders
Just called my dealer to follow-up on my 370z.
He told me that Nissan Canada is not taking anymore orders on the 370z to focus more production on the 370z Roadster. Some might said that's BS, but there's no reason for him to BS as I already purchased a car from him (maybe he wants me to feel special; which I doubt). He's trying to ask Nissan Canada to see what is going on. So don't be surprised that your dealer won't be taking anymore orders. Note: The 370z is still coming in, but custom orders are not being taken. Also, Sport Package for Canada is very limited, most 370z that are here doesn't have the Sport Package. |

I agree that you may still find ones on lots (or from existing unsold dealer orders) with base(touring) only or also with nav, but a fully loaded Canadian 09 370Z with nav and sport will probably be harder to find...I suspect not many were ordered that way. |

Got my order in before the cutoff
I suspected as much. Since Canada's 370Z production is roughly 10% of the USA predicted sales of 20,000 units (or whatever the latest projected sales figures are for the USA) that leaves only 2,000 units to be made in 2009 for Canada. Most dealers didn't know this until recently and have ordered what they think they can sell in the summer. Most are not ordering many at all, if any. I think a lot of buyers are going to have to wait till 2010 production runs to be able to order a 370Z coupe in Canada. Unfortunatly, this is going to be proven sooner than I anticipated. I was suspecting a July order cutoff date, not a May cutoff.

I am getting mixed messages from the dealer. He now said he's still taking orders. He said there's no confirm news saying Nissan Canada is no longer taking orders.
Can't say I am not a little worried about my order (placed 1.5 months ago). Since then, I just got a piece of paper saying I made a deposit. And a word from the sales saying my car will be here in June. Want to know my VIN ASAP, so at least I know it's the correct color and options I ordered. How long does it normally take to get the VIN? |

i was just told by the GM of my dealership that the rumors about nissan cutting production of the 370z in Canada are absolutely true. i placed my order last monday, and at this point he is unsure if my order will be filled; he says he will have a definitive answer for me tomorrow, and i'll update the status at that time.
this f@%kin sucks!!! worst case scenario, i'll have to wait for the 2010... |

I think it really depends what dealer you go to or what city you are in. Locally in Calgary my dealer still has a few unsold 370Z (recently arrived) on the lot. Some of them include sport.

I feel pretty lucky to have received my car when I did. Brasso really came through for me. I hope everyone else's orders work out fine. As previously mentioned Brasso has a few unsold ones on their lot with the sport option. YamahaR6 and Matt2112 maybe your dealer(s) in Toronto can check out of province inventory and bring one in from another dealer in another location.
AB370Z you must be getting excited for your car. The wait will be worth it. You will have to let me know how you like the navi |
