I still use a simple chamois to dry the car off instead of towels. Not sure if anyone can chime in as to whether towels vs. chamois is better or not...

I have a few chamois. After each use I just clean the chamois with soapy water, rinse and let dry. They can last a while.

Hey, maybe the ShamWow would work?

I was taught on chamois and have a wringer too. I also use microfiber towels for drying, but they always lead a little leftover residue, and you must detail spray to finish off. A chamois will dry spotlessly, and in the right hands will not scratch your paint.
