I think it's time to set up a meet (GTA)

Hey guys, it sure has been quite a while since we've gone on a cruise!

Post up if you're interested & if you know any good routes.

P.S. I'd really like this to be a full-day meet! Ideally, we meet up around 9am and go all day long.

I'm in for a meet, the cruise will depend on the location.

If we do a meet I'm up for going as far as Oakville, but not interested in driving further than that. Maybe the Whole Foods parking lot off Trafalgar?

It seems to be 1/2 way between Hamilton/Toronto so hopefully people are ok with this?

Before more people sign up please read:

The meeting place will be @ Cora's. It's located on the southeast corner of Dundas & Appleby Line in Burlington.

We will meet up, take some pics, and begin our cruise. We will find a place to stop for lunch, and then probably end up somewhere for dinner.

For the people who know the area well, please brainstorm a route, maybe we will even combine some ideas.

Also please post up if you have walkie-talkies. I will try to buy a couple, but it would be very nice if everyone has one.

For those without a GPS: you probably have a smartphone, so please get familiar with your maps app. It's surprising how many people STILL don't know how to use those. You will need this in case you split off the pack and get lost.

So let's get a few people who are interested, and then we will start tossing dates.

In for Cora's.

An idea has been thrown at me to hit up forks of the credit as one of the roads. Just throwing it out there.

Depending on the date I'm down for a meet

One thing on forks of the credit road. it has been under construction for some time and im not sure they are finished yet, havent been by there for about a month
If i get a chance ill see if i can drive by in next few days...

DjSquall 06-03-2011 10:56 AM

@z370z - sign yourself up and once we have 5+ people, we will try make a date that's good for everyone.

@CAN-ZED - I might be in that area this weekend. I'll post up if I get a chance to hit the road.

Should be in, June is pretty clear for me. Lots of good ideas to head Northeast from Cora's and bring the GTA folks a little closer to home while not bringing us westerners to far away either. And, I've got a pair of walkies to contribite too.

Mhaddy 06-06-2011 10:59 AM

I'm in, but not for June - I'm off to London on Saturday.

Forks are open, was up there last month.

I'm in for a meet. June is bad for me too, first couple of weeks in July are open.

Anyone want to do a run Sunday June 26?

We could do a repeat of last years failed Forks cruise (closed road). Meet at 401 and Winston Chirchill - from there North on Winston Churchill to the Forks - East to HWY 10, south to Old Baseline, Winston Churchill back through Terra Cotta, then through Glen Williams to Georgetown and a great pub there called the St. George. It's a nice drive.

Just a suggestion.

I'm up for a meet but I'm in the middle of my box lacrosse season now so mist weeks there's two days I can't do it....... June 26 I'm out already checked. Game @1:30

I know we always tend to look at weekends, but would an evening cruise in the week work better? Weekends can be tricky for people as they have commitments.

Do people want to try and find a Saturday or Sunday, or should we do it during the week after work? The days are certainly long enough now with the longest one of the year coming. Maybe we could do a shorter equinox cruise on the 21st and officially welcome summer!

Dizzy, great route, im in if we can rally enough guys for 26th, but i am also open to weeknights, we could easily do this route after work one night and end up at St George for wings and a refreshing beer on the patio!
