Washing/Drying recommendations

Does anybody have any tips on washing/drying? Use a pressure washer and towel to dry? I've used these cheap towels(not on my Z) that leave a little fluff on the car. Any recommendations on what I should buy to dry?

:eekdance::eekdance::eekdance:pressure washer? :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Are you mad???????????? Hate your new car?????????

I'll have to forward you proper washing instructions and detailing guides to protect your new cars paint ......... from yourself :shakes head:

put the pressure washer wand down and walk away slowly with your hands in clear sight

This is my method...

Lambswool mitt* for washing - use 2 buckets of water, to avoid rubbing small particles of dirt into the paintwork

Microfibre cloth* for drying - soaks up loads of water & doesn't leave water marks.

Then wax (polish first, if necessary)

Pressure washer? No.

(As I've said in another thread, washing the car in the rain isn't a bad idea, because it rinses the car for you.)

*I'm in the UK, so the names may be slightly different where you are.

Always by Hand

See autogeek.net for "how to's" for some good info.

for a typical wash i use bucket and a hose to wash. dry with a shammy (sp?) and clean rims with water and soft soap. once every like 2-3 months i will wash and wax the car.

pressure wash = negative

I haven't had to wash my 370Z yet...thank God! That's the beauty of internet forums...EDUCATION. Honestly this is the first new car I've owned and I want to learn as much as possible from this site. Thanks Zat & Chubbs for the information I appreciate it but my car loves you for it.

I'm no expert but I heard that the high pressure can potentially drive dirt into the paint. It'll also strip wax off the car faster.
