If you qualify, give Meloche Monix a call. I just saved a combined 4k annually between my girlfriend and myself on our insurance by switching over for all of our vehicles.

They have a great combined discount rate if you use them for both Home/Auto insurance.

It was literally 1/2 the cost of State Farm, and I have 4 tickets...:ugh2:

I'd still give them a shout, they were sooooooo much cheaper than any other insurance company.

I don't know your line of work, but I think you do have to be considered a 'business professional' to qualify for insurance with their company tho....

I'm with wawanesa, they're a great insurance company too

Edit: in montreal, insurance is run by the government cuz it's Quebec. In Ontario, insurance is private. I'm 23 paying 275/month.

I think I'm the occasional lmao. I got my g2 just a year ago. Basically, private insurance is 10x more expensive than government run. So $300ish/month is about what you'll get here. Sorry to disappoint you, but we get raped like that.

I work in Ottawa a lot, and I know a lot of Ottawa people register their cars in the name/adress of a Quebec resident in order to save that $150-200/month.

In Alberta your race doesn't affect your auto insurance rate. Is it different back east?

No, otherwise it's racism.

I have to give Meloche Monnex my vote too.
I have 3 cars insured with them in Peterborough, ON and pay $175/mnth including the Z.

I also should mention that I have a group rate with them from PEO.

IDZRVIT 05-14-2011 08:53 AM

About $90/month for my Z. My '76 'vette has antique insurance - $21/month full coverage. One of the few benefits when you're an old guy.:happydance:

Is it possible for my dad to have an address in both Quebec and toronto?
If it's possible. I will just drag him to toronto to rent an apartment for me.lease a car and of course pay less insurance(which would be like 120 a month instead of 300)

Can it work this way?

You will get murdered by Insurance.. Renting an apartment in Toronto will cost you big time!
-How long have you been insured as the primary driver?
-Do you have any outstanding tickets?
-Do you have points on your profile?

What you can do to circumvent the system is to purchase the vehicle in Quebec, have it registered and insured under your Fathers name with you as the secondary or occasional driver. Leave the Quebec plates on the vehicle and just drive..

Otherwise get ready for some "no-lube" action from the Ontario Auto Insurance Industry. (you are in a high-risk category)

GL OP!

Ninja Edit: You will save $$ by living in Markham.. just an fyi..
