When Are You Bringing Your Z Back Out?

It's that time of year for those of us that stored our beloved cars. So, when are you bringing yours out? I figure with all the snow should be gone in the next day or so around here and the rain forcast for next week will give the roads a good rinse. I'm thinking I'll be on the road by the first week of April!!

spitfiretr7 03-18-2011 08:26 PM

Mid April will see my Carbon Silver out again.....salt all gone and snow should be done for year. Winter rims will be off the daily driver by then too :-)

Da.Menace 03-19-2011 02:52 AM

April 1st.

Xan 03-19-2011 03:01 AM

I'm going for April 1st as well... Although I've been tempted to take it out a couple of times already... I'm not in Canada though... :)

Zat_Zuma 03-19-2011 09:59 AM

Here in Alberta, the roads have a lot of sand/rock chips from the winter until at least mid-May. Plus the spring melt off isn't done until at least the end of April. So I will usually insure the car for the road on June 1. Makes for a short season, since I take the Z off the road Oct 1. Keeps the mileage down though ..lol

How many kms do you have on yours?

KanataZ 03-19-2011 10:30 AM

Looking at the sunshine today is making it very temping, but the weather network sadly says it's minus 4 out there. Plus the roads are dirty, wet and lots of salt still around.

I have always gotten my bike out before the end of March - even if it was just to tour around the block, so I'm hoping the same this year for the Z.

Whenever it is, it won't be soon enough.

krzykanuk 03-19-2011 10:43 AM

Prolly second week of April. We're sposed to get 15 cm of snow over the next 3 days here in Calgary. ****. ****. ****.

My guess without actually checking ...... 6,000 Km

TripleBlkZ 03-19-2011 11:10 AM

Maybe March 26th weekend, if not it will be out for sure first weekend in April...no snow, dry roads but dusty and still some major roads need to be swept and cleaned. Plus wishing for a good rain to clear off some of the dust.

1Sweet Z 03-19-2011 11:31 AM

I took mine out for a good spin yesterday. Gotta run down to dealership today to have them check out something. Other than that she comes out when the sun is shining and then sprayed off and back into the garage.

IDZRVIT 03-19-2011 02:55 PM

It's out!!! Put the insurance back on a week ago and have had it out twice.

Hmmm that's funny - I'm in Canada and my car is on the road all year round. Maybe you should move to Canada so you don't have to store you car for the winter ;P

Lol, well I have another car so I don't have to drive my car on the crappy roads during the winter.... Half the road seems to sink into the earth during winter time here, creating pot holes all over the place

MD-370z 03-19-2011 05:34 PM

like fricrac i drive mine all year its my dd, even with the snow in the winter or salt so get your z our there guys!

Maybe YOU should tell everyone who's not from Canada, that you live in God's country. You don't really get snow. And if you did, the two inches would probably melt in a couple of days. And they don't dump crap on your roads and potholes are non-exsistant. :stirthepot:

90 ST 03-20-2011 01:56 AM

I never put mine away...
< my truck got put away in Oct. and should be out mid May though, as long as the engine swap goes well. :)

LMBmikeZ 03-20-2011 01:17 PM

Mines in storage till May 1st!

I like waiting before I bring it out. I like the roads to be rinsed clean a few times anyway, not to mention how many potholes the spring brings to our Ontario roads and hwys! It's pretty bad IMO. Some of the holes are definatly deep enough to bottom out the Z. So I always hope by May they have patched up most of them...

sinceday1 03-20-2011 02:05 PM

It's been out for a week for me already.
Weather's been pretty decent lately here in Atlantic Canada!

BG370z 03-21-2011 05:01 PM

Looking at 1st or 2nd week of April still alot of crap on the roads

wheee! 03-21-2011 05:14 PM

Hoping for mid-April... depends on road conditions.

Z eliminator 03-22-2011 09:34 AM

Took it out last week. but 10 cm of snow coming tonight. Drove it down town today with my new torque convereter.

z

FricFrac 03-22-2011 09:41 AM

Z eliminator looking forward to some new track times! When will you be back at the track with your 320rwhp?

mistermoe 03-22-2011 12:29 PM

mid april-early may

Lemers 03-22-2011 12:35 PM

I've been driving my Z all winter long

TheGreatOne 03-22-2011 03:01 PM

Took it out last week, winter tire law was up March 15th and we had a really nice week

Snowed yesterday (go figure) so she stayed home Monday and today

the roads are still pretty crappy anod not 100% but I just take routes I know :)

jazz 03-24-2011 11:02 AM

never....nissan called me last night and told me my car is in the ocean and they wont be able to make the delivery...also told it could be the fall before they see any 370z come this way. so sad! ;(

on the up side of things....ill have some nice wheels in my house and and 4 wilwood BBk as artwork on my wall.lol

6MT 03-24-2011 07:02 PM

Looks like probably June. The snow is still 3 to 4 feet high here and under that is the most pot-hole filled streets I've seen in a long time. Poor conditions for driving a Z.

wheee! 03-24-2011 09:45 PM

.... and I am installing lowering springs next week! lol

Great Choice on the colour. I love my GM
Did the dealer give you a break on MSRP since you other roadster is on the bottom of the pacific ocean?

WoZZer 03-25-2011 08:24 PM

AAArrrrgggg... make the snow go away. In spite of that, moved the car from the winter storage (garage) to the shop to do some work. Got it horribly stuck with the smooth tires on the 150 yard journey, but a piece of carpet got me going again. Looks like the end of April before it hits the pavement. Maybe need a 4wd version??

Zat_Zuma 03-25-2011 08:35 PM

Holy carp ...... you are still around ..... it's been ages since I've seen you here :tiphat:

TripleBlkZ 03-26-2011 10:54 AM

Brought mine out Thursday, was little worried about some of the gravel on the roads but if I stay on the main routes its fine...even had the top down yesterday for a bit.

6MT 03-26-2011 11:01 AM

Snow and cold here for the next three days. And the snow pack here is almost 4 feet. Roads are cavernous obstacle courses. Time frame in the Edmonton area, for sane owners, is probably late May or early June. Sucks!

TripleBlkZ 03-26-2011 12:37 PM

Ah Edmonton, we lived there for ~12years. Since moving here I understand now why the wife never wanted me to buy a roadster there...
