Nismo Z in Canada?

Anybody know if the nismo Z is coming to canada or is this US market only?

FricFrac 04-08-2009 06:35 PM

I doubt it - the 350Z Nismo never made it to Canada....

Zat_Zuma 04-09-2009 10:17 AM

In my conversation with the lead salesman at WEN, the answer I received was No.
But until Nissan officially announces it's availability ..... it could be a possibility. If it's available in Canada it will be a limited amount with a huge dealer mark-up. It would probably still be cheaper and have a better selection in the USA. Watch the Nissan websites for both countries and that will tell us.

I'll take mine in Red, please :driving:

Zat_Zuma 04-16-2009 05:37 PM

Just confirmed with a knowledgeable manager who would know and care.

There will be NO 2009 Nismo 370Z available in Canada as a factory order.

Start lobbying for a 2010 option availability in Canada ..eh

Is any one else as dissapointed in this as I am? Why does Canada get the short end of the stick again? I would recommend everyone take the time and voice their concerns to Nissan's Head Office if I thought it would make difference but I doubt it would. Perhaps this issue is for greater minds thenmy own to understand, however, I fail to see why Nissan won't market a simple "Nismo" package to the Canadian line up? I can't see them not selling.

(btw, just feel lucky we get the 370Z at all)

I can't argue that sales in Canada are but a percentage of sales in the US. This fact however should not restrict us from having a production vehicle's full line up availible to us. If Nissan deems it worth while to manufacture and produce a $100K super car in Canada, It does not make any sense why a $4000.00 performance package should not be marketable as well.

I don't know about any one else, but we are the consumers. We are Nissan's sales audiance for the 370z in Canada. If it weren't for us, they would have "0" sales in Canada. Nissan should be catering to us, not us having to grovel for the interior color we would prefer on our $50K investment. After reading posts for sales experiances within Canada, it would seem most consumers in Canada are rolling over for Nissan while saying "Thank you sir, can I have some more?", mean while were paying too much and not being provided basic options marketed on NIssan's public website.

I can only speak for myself, but personally when I am in the market next year for a sports car, the car I buy will be on my terms and not the other way around. I think the problem is, we are creatures of a society that dictates we "HAVE TO" have the newest best product on the market and we will do anything to obtain it. For your viewing pleasure, I provide the following as an example:
Sony Releases New Stupid Piece Of **** That Doesn't ******* Work | The Onion - America's Finest News Source

In closing, Nissan needs are buisness more then we need theirs. That in mind, Nissan should be catering to us, not the other way around.

nogoodname 04-30-2009 01:24 PM

what's so bad, if you want to order some nismo parts.....our vendor buddies down there can ship it..... some after market parts are better anyways and the body kit is super ugly.....lol...box'y shapes..

FricFrac 05-01-2009 03:50 PM

I agree its pretty weak. I suspect however that Nissan isn't making a lot of $$ on the Nismo version (extra work done on the body, etc) and its more of a show piece than anything for Nissan. We account in Canada for about the same sales as the state of California.... but you can get a Nismo in Cali ;) I doubt we'll see a Nismo here... but hope springs eternal and there are some hopeful signs like the 370Z being listed at $10K less than the 350Z bringing it right on par with the US model at the current exchange rate - kudos to Nissan for that. Also I've seen Nismo trucks here in Canada so its possible the 370Z may get the same treatment here......

Still bitter about being kicked out of the social group for inappropriate behaviour towards another member, I see...none of the other Edmonton members are on crack...you're reading old posts from 2009 in a couple of threads, at which time there were no Nismo 370Z's north of the 49th parallel. YOU get your facts straight before you try to discredit others. :icon14:

i never got kicked out, i left, either way i could care less. Big whoop a group of guys on the internet didnt want to talk to me....wow, i sit in a corner every night crying myself to sleep over that.

And no, u guys werent talking about a thread made in 2009, infact it was made today and locked. I wouldnt really give two ***** about it, but since a certain person (will remain nameless) accused another member that works at a dealership and being wrong that they have a Nismo, stating they arent offerd in canada and to get his facts straight.... and then have multiple dealerships in canada, including 1 or 2 in Edmonton have the nismo 370z...really shows ignorance and disrespect to a person that is trying to promote the Z to the local community.

90 ST 03-14-2011 09:59 PM

Not sure about '09, but we have Nismo's here this year...

That member that works at a dealership was soliciting business without being a vendor on this forum, which is against the rules. That's why that thread is locked and his post here deleted. Now he may not be aware of the forum rules, which is an oversight that can be easily rectified. I'm sure if he chooses to become a sponsored vendor, the thread would be unlocked and he would be free to post. You can't consider that "ignorance". In the same token, the member (which will remain nameless) was not informed about 2011 Nismos. He's now informed and stands corrected...he wasn't "ignorant" nor "disrespectful" in any manner. His statement about the "fake Nismo" at Sherwood was accurate as well.

I think you have a chip on your shoulder against this nameless member because he happens to be the moderator of the social group that you were KICKED out of. And in return, you're resentful to all members of that group by association. That's neither here nor there to any of the local members. Anyhow, enough about you. Lots of Canadian enthusiasts are excited about the new Nismo that's here. :driving:

djpathfinder 03-14-2011 10:49 PM

There seems to be a lot of different sticker prices from different dealers...rarity of the model, as well as supply hiccups because of the earthquake in Japan will certainly affect the selling price of Z's in general, and keep the price of the Nismo high for a while. That's kind of like paying a premium to be one of the first ones to get the new Z back in 2009. I'm sure by late summer or fall, when more stock is available, there will be a higher likelihood to get one at a better deal.

Depending on whether you want to mod the car, it may not be worthwhile to get one...for instance, what's the point of buying a vehicle with Nismo tuned suspension, exhaust, and aerokit if one plans to swap out these parts with aftermarket ones? OK...debatable point, but that's my opinion. Also, I've seen Nismos in person while in the States...though the look is much nicer than the Nismo 350's, the Nismo 370 is still a bit rice for me...another subjective point, of course. However, it's great to see more Nismo stuff trickling our way for sure.

Zat_Zuma 03-15-2011 11:02 AM

I'm actually glad the 370Z Nismo is now available in Canada. It means certain Nismo body parts and other Nismo accessories will be able to picked up locally at your Nissan dealership. It might cost a arm or a leg to get it but at least it will be available locally, which is a huge step.

6MT 03-15-2011 11:17 AM

So Zat, when are you doing it? The Nismo body kit thang?

Zat_Zuma 03-15-2011 11:18 AM

Far, far, far away. So long down the road, it's not even on the "to do" list.

But it is on the "bling" list

jazz 03-15-2011 11:25 AM

50 are going to come to canada

jazz 03-15-2011 11:25 AM

it will be this spring!

jazz 03-15-2011 11:26 AM

BTW...not in the roadster...as i would of got it! only hardtop;(

Dizzy 03-15-2011 12:24 PM

I've read 60 Nizmos destined for Canada. You can bet the crisis in Japan is going to have a huge effect on that. I would hazard to guess that exporting cars is at the bottom of that countries priority list right now.

It will be interesting to see what effect the crisis has on the Z as it's the only model not built in North America. This could push the demand and keep prices high. Man, am I ever glad I got one at the end of last year.

Da.Menace 03-15-2011 12:56 PM

For those who didnt know, one of Nissan's shipyard was wiped during the tsunami.
http://www.datapple.com/wp-content/p...unami-cars.jpg
I spotted a couple Z, G, and GTR in that pic. Who knows? maybe some of them were suppose to be shipped to Canada.

G and GTRs are also built in Japan only. All 3 are in the same town of assembly.

True true. I just never consider the GTR when I think of Nissan's mainstream cars, it's a wee bit out there.

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced the disaster in Japan is going to have an effect on our imports this year.

djpathfinder 03-15-2011 06:50 PM

I'm sure some of the orders are enroute, but for sure this will affect production and new orders for several months.

And one can therefore only assume it will also have an effect on pricing. Dealers won't be looking to make deals on cars that are now in high demand and can't be ordered.

doubleG370Z 03-17-2011 04:32 PM

There is one sitting on the lot at Morrey Nissan in burnaby.

jazz 03-23-2011 02:45 PM

the 370z has never been in High demand in canada, not sure why? i dont think it will change the price at all. that being said, i love it!

jazz 03-23-2011 02:47 PM

Got a quote on the Nismo from a dealer on Friday and yup, it's being sold for 46k. There is a silver one sitting in the dixie showroom with a black one on the way.

younter 03-30-2011 09:09 AM

there is one black Nismo arrived last week at HUNT CLUB NISSAN showroom

Ronnie 04-18-2011 01:28 PM

There is a brand new 2011 Nismo 370Z at West Coast Nissan in Pitt Meadows B.C. It is on the Canada Trader website. Red. I don't believe it is a U.S. import as the speedo is in KM/PH.

Snakes709 04-18-2011 07:46 PM

We just had a car expo show in edmonton, im very shocked the nismo was not there. Only the sports edition and the roadster were at the show. Nissan didnt even bring the GT-R.
