Another couple of ideas to try to unluck frozen doors are WD-40 and windshield washer fluid. With how delicate the paint is on these cars, I too, would be very cautious using a flame to unfreeze anything. JMTC.

flame in these type of temps will literally do nothing! you would need to apply the heat for a good couple of minutes to do any damage, not to mention it's glass not paint or a finished metal products. it's not like the car is sitting in 100 degree heat already baking in the sun....... I mean come on lets be serious. we are talking about something frozen! If you really want your problem fixed, buy a car starter then you will never have a frozen door or frosty windshield again!!

REALLY! wow both me and the woman have car starters and never have to many problems. It's so nice, never even have to use the scraper to much.
NoGood - do you leave your vents on high on defrost? or is MTL really that much worse? I know GTA doesn't get to much snow. but where I live, more SW Ontario we get more snow then GTA.... |

lol freezing rain is a whole different story, if your getting that then ya......your f*cked!
I thought it was just from the snow melting when you get home or whatever at night and then freezing a little bit making it tough, cause that's normally what happens and the starter will help for sure. But when there's a sheet of ice over your car good luck! we always get the freezing rain in SW Ontario closer to the spring. |

haha definitely not! Ontario and Quebec are not even that bad! Some of the worst spots are actually just on the other side of the mountains to you guys! Alberta and the prairies seem to always being the coldest! Often hitting the -20 to -30 degrees C*. Now that can be f*cking cold!
