anyone in Vancouver had their ECU replaced?

Anyone else experiencing this high pitch noise/whine? Have you had it replace & if so where??

nismo 1234 10-21-2010 05:37 PM

i tried to get rid of that noise...
but when i went into the dealership. 3 tech guys came to listen and didnt hear anything cuz of my exhaust.

One tech did hear it, but he says its just the fuel pump and its normal...
hopefully there will be a recall soon

Get an aftermarket exhaust and ignore it :)

i think ill ignore it until recall comes out....
but new car having problems and they wont look into it... just sucks

I plan to bring this noise to tech attention & see what they say, if anything I want to have it documented & hope for a service bulletin.

nismo 1234 10-22-2010 12:32 PM

maybe we can gather a number of 370z with the same problem. and go to the same dealership at the same time. and gather another group of 370z without the problem to show them its not normal

doubleG370Z 10-23-2010 10:58 AM

ok, went to dealer had tech in car for a ride & no noise? go figure at least this has been documented...anyway at least their going to fix release hatch issue with new parts on order.

nismo 1234 10-24-2010 04:24 PM

whats the release hatch issue?? i dont think i have it

doubleG370Z 10-24-2010 04:31 PM

trunk doesn't open all the time when you push the hatch release button.

RELIC 10-27-2010 04:39 AM

I have the ECU 10 kHz noise as well. I'm going to talk to tech about it when I go in for my 1st service.

The hatch is fine unless I have my tonneau cover pulled out and hooked to the lid. Obviously the springs and hydraulic shocks aren't strong enough to pull up the cover as well.

The reason the trunk doesn't open all of the time first push because you most likely have your doors locked! I thought I had the hatch issue as well so I decided to play with it for a little bit. But then again I always lock every thing it is almost a OCD of mine........

Conclusion is that if your doors are unlocked the hatch opens with one push.
When the doors are locked you can either "double click it" and it will open or first hit the smaller lock/unlock button beside it first, then the hatch and the hatch will open with only one push (because it's obviously unlocked....lol)

At least this is what mine has been doing, and I think in the end this is proper function to work like this IMO

/\ not entirely true, just had hatch springs replaced(part of service bulletin) and now hatch opens properly with one push of release button, doors locked or unlocked...also no more rattling/squeaking from trunk area which was due to rubbing of latch mechanism :)

The original spring does not have enough lift to fully release the hatch with a single button push. Here it is with the replacement that Nissan will need to order in, n.c.. Note the replacement is about a half inch longer.

Re. the whine. Got it, and pretty much ignore it, as the mods drown it out now.
Although, when and if there's a service bulletin, I'll be the first in line for the ECU replacement.

OK I got ya, I searched for it and looked at the bulletin. Just glad my Z has nothing...........so far. As far as my playing around with the hatch before kinda seems like a waste of my time before but at least I know how it works completely now.
