I looked underneath the rear bumper today and there is already a bracket colored white. I think all we need to replace is the assembly that comes with the red cover. The problem is if there is a wiring for the stalk for the US version???

Hey guys I replaced my license plate bulbs with LED white lights and looks great! very easy job also. It looks like the Lexus IS license plate..

Wire it as a break light? Could it be tapped into the existing break lights???

but the lens need to be replaced first

It only took me 5 months to figure this out. I thought I had a dummy light until I noticed the fog lamp switch on turn lane indicator.
So I would like to ask the Canadian's.. What do you use the 'Rear' Fog Light for?

Brutal 370Z 07-29-2011 08:16 AM

What a relief! I'm glad that Canadian versions have this feature. Saves us the hassle of having to get it later.

Uh... yeah, they always have had it. I use mine in less than ideal conditions (foggy, rainy, etc..). But not very often, although the first time I used mine, I freaked out a fellow Z driver. We were on our way to a local drinking establishment and he was following me. I turned it on and he backed off of my tail. When we stopped, he asked what that was (he was driving a Z32). He thought it was really cool.

EDIT: also, jeoyz10, use the search function. There are many threads on US guys/gals putting the rear fog lamp on their cars.

Hey brutal don't know your opinion on the stock fog light yet. But you might want to look into the evo r fog light as a replacement, it replacesthe britt *** bulb with more suites LEDs. I am going to be getting one. I find that the stock light (which is the bulb) is over powering it's way to bright and it's pretty gay looking IMO. The light will look way better with LEDs like the rest of the rear.

So is it just a bulb replacement or the whole unit in this case?

TheGreatOne 08-02-2011 10:09 AM

Honestly, I just like turning it on at night lol. Used it once in some fog/haze type weather...but usually when its dusk, almost dark...I flip it on

Brutal 370Z 08-02-2011 10:45 AM

BTW, is there a separate switch for it? If so, where is it located?

It is a replacement unit that u just switch with the stock one. As for the switch there should be a second switch u can turn a little further in on the stock u use to turn on your lights.

i now only use mine if i have a friend following me in heavy traffic...i had a few too many ppl try to tell me my brake lights were on. LOL

Mine came from Brasso too. :)

Brutal 370Z 08-02-2011 12:13 PM

nice! thanks for the info. Not sure if I will be replacing it but this is good to know.

LMBmikeZ 08-02-2011 06:49 PM

I think once u look at the fog a couple times you will see the general ugliness of the stock light. For some reason it's the only regular bulb on the entire rear end of the car??? Looks off IMO.
