Dealerships are suppose to warranty it . But they act like you don't know anything and won't say anything.......I would so BBB them and complain to HQ. It's still a Nissan right???

Failure at the Richmond Auto Mall.... apparently the 370Z is going through PDI and will be here this weekend - unfortunately I was only in Vancouver for the day..... and the sales guy couldn't be any less interested in selling me the car. Wow - there is no motivation to move these things that I've seen so far.... I'll call Nanaimo tomorow - that was the only decent sales man I've run across so far.

Ha went to the Victoria Dealership today and asked if I could custom order in the interior I wanted so he went to ask and said "No custom orders on that vehicle" I proced to tell him I figured if I was spending 50K on a vehicle I should be able to custom order whatever I want esp with the economy they way it is etc. The sales man looks at me like I'm an idiot. I say you'd think Nissan would give more customer support by giving the consumer what they want. So then the sales guy has the gaul to tell me that they are giving me what I want and that's just the way it is. If I want he can get the local uphostery shop to replace the seats for around $1900 to get the color I want. You know something along the lines of yea it sucks and I really wish we could do something to help you out.... or let me dig a little deeper and see if there is any way around this, etc. But no they expect me to buy a car from him just because he's standing there. Man these sales guys are really pissing me off.

That said the guy in Nanaimo has been very friendly and helpful. He's gonna try and I doubt from past history he's gonna be able to get me what I want but at least the guy is trying and wants to sell me a car. Seriously WTF is wrong with all these sales people! I'd be happy with at least some BS sales pitch....

^^^re warranty.

Not that I got this in writing, but the Nissan salesman I spoke to today told me how that works, which sounded right. He said if a Canadian picks up a US model that hasn't been in the US for more than six months, then it voids the warranty if brought back to Canada. In theory, you could buy one direct and have it stored in the US for six months before bringing into Canada and then you would be OK with no void warranty.

I lived in the US for a while with work and had imported my 03 Canadian 350Z into the US (registered and got Arizona plates) and then later brought it back into Canada. A lot of hassle I can tell you. I had no warranty issues while in the US and had the "feathering" 350Z tires replaced under warranty there...should be the same the other way around.

JMO, but you might as well get PO'd now & get it out of your system.
It's too bad, but I doubt you'll get anywhere with this.

I'm waffling between white & blue.
Since blue has the dark interior, that's probably the way I'll go.

I am in agreement that sometimes you just can't beat the "system" so you need to accept it and move on. Like it or not but the Nissan Canadian dealer's hands are tied if Nissan corporate office dictates the model specs available.

That's exactly the decision I have to make and am also leaning towards the blue as well. I actually don't mind the look of the frost interior with white, but will be more difficult to maintain. Imagine spilling coffee or coke on the white suede part... On the other hand, I'm sure the dealer will try to sell you on some protectant by springing that on you when you are finalizing a price as they always try...

On that note though, are you guys considering the clear bra (3M) thing to protect front, hood, maybe mirrors? I did it on my Xterra and it does eliminate the rock chips.

^ Just to take it a step further...
I looked into this a while back.

My understanding is that it has to be landed in the US.
In other words, you can't just store it, the car needs to be put on the road.

This would require that a US citizen own it in order to license it.
I happen to have a sister in PA & I was going to work it through her.

That's a no-brainer for me.
I've done it on the last 3 cars.
Modern paint sucks, as far as resistance to minor chips goes.

I agree I may have oversimplied it for a few steps missing from the above and agree in concept with what you are saying ...but debating very specific technical details is somewhat pointless unless you have something formal in writing. However, I doubt being a "US citizen" is the only way to get there...e.g. what if you are a Canadian snowbird (i.e. Canadian resident living in US for period of time but that is not a US citizen) and buy it in US, license it and drive/keep the vehicle at a US address for 6 months or more before bringing back to Canada? My guess is that would work too, as other scenarios, so long as purchased by someone with a US address and remaining in the US for the specified period of time.
