Going to the dealer tomorrow. Need input.
Hey everyone, as the title states, I'm going to the dealership tomorrow to talk about getting the 370Z. I'm probably going to go with a 5 year lease, so I was wondering how much I SHOULD be paying monthly, so I could compare the info some of you may give me vs what my dealer will offer to me. Any help is appreciated!
|
I would go in to talk about a purchase. Get the price somewhere close to your range, then hit him with the lease...
GL MAN! |
Should just go to Nissan canada and play with the Payment tools, I found that they are very close to what the deal will offer minus insurance and any additional add ons like 3M protection and such.
One thing I have noticed is that the 3yr lease is a lower % rate then the 4-5yr, even though this won't make a huge differance in interest paid but compare the payments |
I hope things work out for you but isn't five years an awfully long time to lease? Have you crunched the numbers to determine what will save you more money over 60 months?
Not making judgements here, just speaking from leasing experience....the shorter the better, given that all you're doing is paying for the company's depreciation costs. Again, good luck! |
The payment calculator is giving me a price of $800- $1000/month. But the thing is that, our murano which was $50-odd thousand, is only $500/month on the lease. That's why I was wondering if any of you guys are paying a rate that's according to the payment calculator, or something else. And the lady we are going to so far gave us the best quotes out of all the dealers we got in touch with.

The calculator on the site is shiat, go in and talk numbers. Be stern but make sure you have a final number (which isn't too low.. do your research) and if they are not willing to meet you, just leave the number and your name/phone on his desk and walk away. Go to another dealership and talk numbers with them.... I've done the dealer to dealer war before, it works! I know you want the black cherry also which is 2010, you would have a better chance of a bargain on an 09, if you're trying to keep your price down.
One other thing, get the idea of leasing out of your head.... it would be wiser to buy on with a decent rate and sell the car in the end than lease and lose your money plus maybe have to pay extra on overage in KM's...... trust me when you get the car you will not want to stop driving it! Good luck! :happydance: Hope to see ya out rollin at the future meets! http://www.the370z.com/canada/15359-...n-ontario.html |
Thanks z370z, I will definitely keep that in mind tomorrow :)
|
Update: got the car financed, right now it's in the shop getting detailed, clearcoat, rust protection, spoiler & intake. I went for the 09 model w/diamond graphite color and beige interior. Looks soo sexy :D turned out that black cherry paint actually looks like total crap.
Getting the car back on Wednesday!!!!! |
Congrats on the purchase!!! You should come to our meet!!!
|
What kind of deal did you get for an '09?

By clearcoat he may mean Clear Bra
|
Yep yep, the clear bra stuff. This is going to be my daily driver for the next 5 years so I want that car protected against anything. Plus they guarantee it for 10 years. Which means if there's a spot of rust on the car in the next 10 years, they fix it for free.
And I paid $42k and change for the car. |
Base? Or did you slip sport and/or nav into it too? We have a meet next Sunday! Hope to see ya out
|
It's fully loaded :) and I'll do my best to make it :)
|
Hold on a second.....
so you paid $42xxx, OTD, for a 09 with sport+navigation? |
Yeah. Sounds about right. Grand total was 51k after the optional stuff
|
Oh so thats not $42k OTD.. lol..
I was like.. Its impossible for a 09 w/Sport + navi for $42k OTD. $51k OTD sounds about right, as I got my 10 w/Sport for $48k flat OTD |
Nice nice. The monthly payments for the '10 were just too ridiculous for my budget :(
|
What was the difference in price between an '09 and a '10?
|
About 10 grand. They had one there for 36k. But I wanted a/t since I don't drive stick
|
Which dealership did you go to?

This is for 3-Coat Paint w/Sport. |
Willowdale Nissan @ yonge/steeles
|
Just wondering what was your approach to lowering the dealer's MSRP? 42k for sport+navi sounds like a really good price considering the sport is 4k and the navi is 2.5k.
I originally was pretty settled on a 328i coupe but test drove a 350Z convertible today and it was a nice drive and that has got me re-thinking. So, I was just wondering how your session went with willowdale just to get a feel for what tactics they may use. My local dealer has none on the lot at all and they say that it has to be ordered from their central pool of 370z. Does anyone know if this is true? I only was able to find one in stock at the st. clair dealership (carbon silver/persimmon interior). |

No idea WTF admin fees are, I was happy enough about getting the Z as my first car that I didn't really give a damn lol.
BMW are way over rated for a car that falls apart after 3 years. |

Everybody I have ever known that has had a Beamer for over 3 yrs complains about how much they begin to break down. So I will stand by my statement.
They are hella fun, when NEW. |

Considering how much you may end up driving the car because you enjoy it so much a lease may work against you if the lease limits the number of miles per year you can put on the car AND / OR contracts you to pay for all wear & tear. If you can't buy it through some finance means I would NOT recommend leasing it. |

How many old bmw's do you see on the road? 99% of them are brand-spankin new. This is due to the fact that they cannot withstand the test of time. |
