No XM NavWeather in Canada?
Has anyone else called XM Canada to renew/set-up/continue their radio subscription and tried to add the NavWeather service as well? I was really looking forward to this (Navtraffic would be nice too, unfortunately Edmonton isn't available yet still just Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver) when I found out our cars supported it. When I called though, the XM rep said she had no idea what I was trying to get, then finally checked around and said it was USA only.
I can understand the NavTraffic service only being available in major metropolitan areas and spreading out as the traffic data collection systems slowly spread to other areas, but something as simple as a weather info service? There is no reason this shouldn't be available across Canada as it is in the US. I can't be the first or only one to try and get this cool feature! |

Im in Vancouver and the xm traffic feature does not work if I remember correctly (only tried once). I dont imagine we're missing much by not having the weather either. Ohh well, just one less thing to subscribe to IMHO. Sirius XM can't actually expect us to pay the same prices for less/crippled features, can they?

Did you subscribe to the NavTraffic before trying it? It doesn't work off the start, only the radio subscription is included in the free trial. If you visit XM Satellite Radio - NavTraffic Market Coverage and click on your city it will show you which roads will have traffic information.
You wouldn't be paying for something you didn't use either, the basic radio package does not include NavWeather or NavTraffic, you must add this on if you want the service. (NavTraffic only, as I was not able to add NavWeather) I just think it would be cool to change my morning iPhone weather check to looking at it in my car on the way to work. I'm kinda a features snob though, if it's possible to have it, I want it even if I won't use it a lot! |
