Just want to say hello to everyone!

I'm from Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Just picked up my Z about a month ago. Only seen about 5 in total on the road and was wondering if there are any Z drivers here who lives in the GTA?

It's so lonely up in Richmond Hill area. I've only seen two within my area. One was Magnetic Black like mine and another was Prussian Blue like yours. :)

But I guess that's what makes driving a Z special - at least in my area, haha!

Haha yeah I was cruising in the murano, turns out this bad girl can squeal on a corner! The plans to get the Z are laid out for the end of June, but I may go get it at the end of may. Currently bound by contracts and I kinda don't want to waste my money just to get the car earlier. Plus the outside/interior colour combo is custom (black cherry w/ tan/black interior) so I'm trying to take care of that ahead of time.

But nonetheless, once the sun goes down, and a rocket flies by in a plume of white smoke with screeching tires.... Well that's probably me haha!

Edit: what colour is your Z btw?

I'm excited for you, DJSquall! Sounds like it's gonna be a slick Z! Never seen a Black cherry on the road before. I drive a Magnetic Black Z with Black Interior :)

It's probably too soon, but do you plan on tracking your Z once you have it all broken in?

Yep, my buddy is a racer and the car genius I go to :D I'm a complete car nub haha! I will probably take a course or two before hitting the track, I don't want to get myself killed now! So far I've only had the guts to go up to 140k in the murano on the 401, a single ticket to me (I'm 22) means high insurance and bye bye dream car! So o can't wait to see what it's like on a real racetrack.

While on the streets, taking hard corners and launching at a stop sign/street light satisfies me enough haha. (I hope that's not considered reckless driving.. When I see a cop I'm automatically 5k under limit JUST IN CASE)

And oh man, my excitement cannot be described in words. The Z is going to be my first car, and right now I'm working 12 hour days/6 days a week to save up as much extra cash as possible. I ALWAYS have it on my mind.. Even when I sleep or work. I just can't wait.

Oh I know exactly what you mean lol... I'm 23, car insurance is surprisingly good for me. Just a little over 200/month and I'm the primary driver. I think it's cheap mostly because of my location though. I live by Yonge/Stouffeville rd. The Z is my first car too. I'm working 38 hours a week.

I picked up my Z never having test driven it before and it just surpassed all of my expectations.

Have you had the opportunity to test drive it before?

Haven't got a chance yet, but I hope to do so when we go meet with a sales rep.

And my insurance is going to be about $200/month as a secondary driver, mostly due to the fact that I got my G2 license a month ago. Never really needed it....

And lol ur lucky u only work 38/week. My standard is 45-50 hours. Right now I'm pushing 70. I do heating and air, so we work a little bit longer :) Youre really close lol, I'm in the dufferin/langstaff area but were planning on moving very soon. I think towards bayview/16th

I'm a car noob myself, so I have much to learn about the Z. I've been to Shannonville and Dunville race track once each in a Mini Cooper. That was really fun. As far as mechanics go, I know very little about cars. Since this is the very first car I own, I feel like I need to know more.

Yeah all I know about cars it take em back for maintenance, get winter tires, and.. Well the mechanic knows the rest!

By the way, I've been hearing that the mini Cooper it's super fun to drive, how did you like yours?

"Super fun" is definately how I would describe it. :)

Espeically on the track, you can max it out without ever worrying about a thing.

Sorry, I hate to doubt you, but I find this almost impossible to believe.. Vehicle insurance, especially for a Sports Car, for males under the age of 25 in ontario is ridiculously expensive.. Your paying the same price as people almost 10 years your elder..

Belairdirect. My mother's car is also insured with them. We don't have life/home insurance with them though.

I've been insured for 6 years as an occasional driver with no claims. it's the location too, i'm all the way up north. Yonge/stouffeville rd.

I pay $205 a month for insurance.

They give discounts if you have winter tires, car alarm, and tracking system.

Actually, belairdirect.ca is much higher for me.. so strange..
I am 35 y/o.. with state farm and when I had my revup z's.. I was paying about $230 ish for the z, home ins and life.. which wasn't bad.. I only wish I got your deals when I was your age.. LoL!

So multi-line discount with 6 years occasional.. that explains alot.. I am also guessing you have a spotless driving record?

I was really surprised when I found out how much I had to pay a month for this car at my age to be honest. I had to shop around. TD would have given me something like 285/m. it's probably just my clean record.

I'm pretty huge on JDM stuff haha! Though I don't have the money now, I will certainly be shopping around for parts. :) Need to get the "Fairlady Z" trunk emblem for sure though lol...

I was looking everywhere for local shops for the Z but couldn't find any - thanks very much for all the info!

Yeah BelAirDirect is a weird insurance company. I think all they really care about is a record without claims. My friend (that I mentioned earlier) has over a dozen tickets, and just got his driver license back from a 6-month suspension. He pays only $200/month on his Nissan Pathfinder. Other insurance companies were offering him $700+ to get insured on his own.. So when he called BelAir and they said $200, he jumped right on it. And he got the belair policy WHILE his license was suspended. All they asked him over the phone was how much he drives a day (he said 10km haha), how long he had his license for, any previous accidents and if he has 4 winter tires on. Not a word about any tickets, etc etc.

For me, they quoted $550/month on a 2010 Murano, $520 for a 2010 370Z, and only $400 for a Porche Boxster. But I put the Porche out of the picture due to high maintenance costs and the fact that its not as good in winter as the Z. Plus its an extra 15-20k brand new.

The Auto Insurance industry is like a fish market haha...

I guess different Insurers cater to different drivers... *shrug* Just need to shop around I guess...

No, I was a hardcore pc gamer. Back in the day my team got to invitational league after 3 hard years. But it was too much for me and I quit. I only play occasionally now. All my spare time is devoted to my studio.

Yeah I do some private parties here and there, mostly for my own enjoyment. Right now I'm concentrating more on learning music production.
