how many km's on your Z when you first picked up your car?

I purchased my Z at burnaby morrey nissan.
when I picked it up on Dec 30th, 2009.
the car originally had 80km's on it.
dealer said that the car was "carefully driven by a professional from anacis(?) island to the dealership" located in burnaby,BC.
however, that place isn't any more than 30km's away from the dealership!
so... I was kinda wondering why it has so many km's on it.
is this a sign of car being previously a demo car?(eventhough I highly doubt that they'd have white 6spd fully loaded Z as a demo car, not even 2009, it's 2010 model)
so anyways, how many km's were already put on your Z when you first picked it up?

Factory ordered mine and took delivery in July last year. KMs so far.... 5100. But it's been parked since mid November and won't be on the road until mid to late April.

EDIT: mine had 7kms off the truck and 27 at the time of delivery. (can you say: "joy-ride"?)

8KM on Delivery

5800km when put away for winter storage

12km on arrival at the dealer :icon17:, 70km on delivery (after 3rd party installs of 3M clear bra, window tinting, winter wheels and tires, lit door sills install....) A little high, and they added another 45km on it when they did the bumper repaint ( http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...-painting.html). I asked them about the 45km and they had no clue who drove it and why, other than to the body shop 6 blocks away.... I was not happy. :shakes head:
At that point the car had 170km on it and 115km was from the dealer!!!!
I told them the next time it comes in, there needs to be a trip ticket listing where it goes, why, and who drove it. Accountability.

As I said above..... can you say, joy-ride?

Mine had 17km on delivery. I've got 83 now. I'm sure they were really careful with this one since they ditched my first one!!

if I'm not mistaken, 50 km = about 30 miles? If that's right, then mine had about 50 km on it when I took delivery. The other Z on the floor had 32 miles on it, so I don't think that's allot of miles to have on a car at delivery. I know that the mechanic does drive the car as part of the prep. I will add that probably the biggest concern about how many miles are on the car is that someone red lined the hell out of it. If you think of it, how can they do that while driving the car in normal traffic? These Z's do 0 to 60 in five seconds! I know it's possible for someone to abuse the car, but I don't think it's a common thing. Sure, once in a while a shopper will punch the car to get a feel for what it can do, but again, remember the 0 to 60 in five seconds. Can you imagine someone punching a Z! If he's not used to a car like the Z, he probably wouldn't get very far before he lost control. So, the had 80km's on it. The car was driven to the dealership which was 30km's away. That means that the car had 50 km on it. That's not that far off what I'd call normal, so did mine. Remember, the mechanic does drive the car as part of the prep and to drive it say 25 km to do that seems right. Maybe it was taken for a test drive, maybe not. Just drive your Z as per the break in instructions, and do the oil changes as suggested, and most likely your Z will giver you many good miles.Well, that's my two cents.

When i test drove a nismo that had 15 miles on it, i drove it for a little then i stalled it b/c the upside down floor mat slid around and under the gas.... no big deal except the battery was discharged so i couldn't turn the car back on. then after a while they finally came to jump the car and when they got it running i told them to drive it back bc i didn't want to drive it with a dead battery etc. i'm not used to the floor mounted gas pedal/clutch engagement. so i rode back with the mechanic. he redlined the car on every shift (he was having fun). however, we got back to the dealership, the car had like 18 miles on it... but that thing had been ABUSED.

no way for the buyer to ever find out

its hard to know if the mechanic or the salesperson abused the **** out the 370z.
as long i think its not the demo z or any over 20km im fine with it.
behind the dealership:
1 mechanic damaged an evo x rear wheel due to reckless driving. speed up as he took a right hand turn, and lose control. crashing to a curb.

another evo. my fren ordered an evo with a huge deal 4k under d retail. he got it with more kms than he was expecting. they didnt ship the car, they have a salesperson drove it from 1 dealership to the other, 2-3 hour drive. after a month, **** starts to happen with his engine. engine will just turn off n weird rattlng sound when goin over 100km

sinceday1 03-14-2010 05:54 AM

23kms, now 4500km
