Edmonton Paint Shops
Well due to the amount of damage that has been done to my Z. I decided to take a leap of faith and be the first to order the nismo body kit from Godspeed Innovations...pictures/link is in the ext/int thread. I talked to Ken from the shop, $1600 total shipped to edmonton is what its costing me. I just paid him $400 and the rest will be paid when i get back in a week or so. The kit comes with the front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts and wing.
Installing the kit is no issue...that i can do in a hour or two. However, painting is a issue. I talked to the shop that Ericksons (dealership where i got my car from) and they wanted to charge me $2100 just to fix the damage on my door and quarter panel. I then checked out the shop thats on the base, his prices were ALOT better...so good i might even change the whole color of my car, from grey to black (same shade as what my ZX6R will be when my gf gets me my new fairings) Just wondering if anyone has gotten work from the shop on the base or any other good shops in edmonton?

I had some good results at cougar paint and collision in the past. If your willing to pay up lots of money, modern autobody is your best shot.
Out of curiousity, how much did you buy your car at erickson? I bought mine at erickson too.. |

$55k total...$5k of that was from the remaining balance from the car i traded in. Think i got screwed though..oh well. But yea i might as re-paint the whole car cuz the new parts have to be painted and the door/quarter panel both have to be fixed. Plus with the new parts the rest of the car has to be blended so i know its going to cost me a few pennies.

yeah.. i paid 55k as well.. That included the 3m rock guard, undercoat, and interior/exterior protection... Guess i'm not the only one that got ripped off by erickson. :P.
Just to give you an idea, I actually had the rear bumper on my z replaced in the fall because of my stupidity (the car rolled back into my gf's car).... Anywho, with labor, new oem bumper and emblems, it costed me $1300 at cougar paint and collision. |

$52,300 all-in: clear bra, lit door sills, Enkei 18" wheels and Dunlop Graspics, Nitrogen fills on all, documentation, etching, Nav, Sport, window tinting, and high end "Z" mats.
Sherwood As for the painting, I had Broadmoor in Sherwood do the bumper repaint and the colour match is really good. As for the quality of the work.... I am a little concerned becaus eof a few small blemishes. No idea of cost though as the dealer paid...

The biggest problem at Ericksen is their customer service has gone to sh!ts over the past few years. I was a loyal customer there since 1997. We've purchased 3 cars, and made 4 family and 1 friend referral there. I'm giving Sherwood a try this time, cuz I heard their customer service is good. The pricing info helps..thanks guys. I'll let you guys know if I buy and what I end up buying. I'm considering touring 6MT with sport - red, white or 40th anniv edition. |

I havent noticed that, they r pretty good to me. They give me discounts and everything. They even use my warrenty even though i have nitrous on my car (even tho that doesnt effect warrenty unless it causes the problem) but they are good to me

Maybe you just know any better and you just think they are treating you right, while laughing behind your back..... which is typical for Erickson.

On the paint topic, Cougar is real good and Joeys Place is unreal but I see you mentioned price so that leads me to think you are not looking for the best shop but the best value? Joeys is VERY expensive and cougar is kind of pricey but if your not looking for show quality work try Herbers on the west side they did good work on a Blazer i used to have. i used to work at a body shop so i see the difference in work but most people would find Herbers acceptable. Another to try is Dougs they do lots of work for dealers like BMW and a few other high end dealers but again they are on the higher price side of things but do real nice work.

Well i know the saying "you get what you pay for" that being said, i want good quality on my car...but not looking to have a $10,000 custom paint job, but just something to get the new body kit to match the factory paint and have it blended. Body kit will be going on probably around May 1st (whenever the roads get abit cleaner) and then painted whenever i get the cash which shouldnt be to far from that date.
