Iphone Viper SmartStart system?

Has anyone in Canada looked into or better yet installed the Viper SmartStart system (VSS4000) in their Z (Interested more in the iphone application part, because I know I can install the wiring no matter what)?

I'm looking into it for my car but want to make sure the application and everything works in Canada. Starting/locking/unlocking/arming my Z from my iphone anywhere in the country sounds awesome!

Umm... really? When are you ever going to really need that? Oops phone got stolen... now not only can the dude who stole it from you find your house (iphone = gps to home) but now can also start your car and drive away....

Technology is almost always good... too much of it in the wrong hands can also be almost always bad

um, why do you wanna unlock the car and start the engine from a different part of the country

i have the titin installed on my car with the text to start and the alarm. it works great. just text my start code to my car and it starts. it texts me back to say it stared. It will also text up to 5 phones to tell me if i have an intruder alarm an impact alarm or if the battery has been cut or is dead. I was actuall in korea and got a text the alarm was going off. turned out to be that the wife opened a door with out turning the alarm off. pretty cool i thought. As as to range. here in Canada the winter is very cold. if you use park and ride the traditional starter really is no good to you as the car will start then you are only 3 mins from the car . this way you can start it 20 mins befre you are do to arrive and you got a nice warm car. not to mention sporting events or even in malls where the rang of traditional startes is greatly reduced.

All very good points which I never really thought of!

Shumby> do you have a link to this system you have? It sounds really cool, and actually useful, I'll have to google it up and read into it!

Thanks guys!
