One of the guys on my local forum happened to be passing by on Dec. 24th just one block away from the Nissan dealership. This is what he saw.
I spoke with the dealer a few days earlier and they told me that my car was on the way and should arrive any day.......so there's a very good chance that this is my car. Obviously if it is, I will without a doubt refuse to take delivey of that one.
I\m going to drop by on Monday to sort it out.

Well thats screwed up. Although it does look like that sign was hit before the 370z was there.

nogoodname 12-27-2009 09:46 PM

hhhmmmmmmmmmm...... could you go to the site now and write down the VIN# that's on the driver side of the windshield.... you should seriously go and check it out!!!

EDIT: oops... a bit late

V8KILR 12-28-2009 03:38 PM

I went to the dealer today but they were closed. However, the car was parked outside so I inspected it as well as I could and there seems to be no visible damage. I'll sort it out with them tomorrow when they're open.

test drive it before you sign delivery

V8KILR 12-28-2009 04:09 PM

Did something similar happen to somebody else?

azn370z 12-28-2009 04:12 PM

If it's at the dealer why didn't they ask you to pick it up?

vipor 12-28-2009 04:20 PM

if it really is that same car they're probably band-aiding it first

nogoodname 12-28-2009 04:21 PM

if the damage cost isnt too much, they dont have to tell you

i don't like that kind of talk sir.

i was waiting for my car in make-ready the night i was picking it up and was just looking at this maxima i was standing near. the rain channels on the roof were all effed up and there was a lot of random hazy spots in the paint. turns out it was a car they had trucked in from another dealer. was not supposed to be wrecked/repaired/repaired poorly. lucky for whoever ordered it i was bored and saw some obvious issues.

guess they'll do whatever they can get away with.

V8KILR 12-28-2009 04:38 PM

They don't have to disclose any damage if it's under $3000.

that's the fact

one guy bought a G37 at MSRP... A year later, someone scuffed his bumper... so, to the body shop the G goes only to find a pickle... they looked at the scuff and stuff.. pulled out the paint thickness machine and realized half the G is factory paint and the other half isnt.... straight down the middle.... Dealer denied what was found

370Z_Fan 12-28-2009 07:37 PM

Where were these pictures taken?

V8KILR 12-28-2009 09:45 PM

Do you mean which city? Road? Country?

They were taken on the road less than a block away from the dealership in Ottawa. I guess the clown decided to tromp on it pulling out of the lot and turned it around putting it in the snow.

370Z_Fan 12-28-2009 10:09 PM

Your friend should have taken down the VIN # so that YOU could verify if this was indeed your car.

V8KILR 12-30-2009 05:48 PM

It's all sorted out now. The car that was ditched was a second car so mine is sitting at the dealer waiting for me to take delivery. I'll pick it up sometime next week maybe.
There was almost 10 grand worth of damage on the other one. 2 wheels and tires, some suspension parts, front rad support and body damage of course.

Snakes709 12-30-2009 06:14 PM

i bet that clown was fired..lol

vipor 12-30-2009 06:59 PM

fell off the truck?

Mhaddy 12-30-2009 07:09 PM

Glad it wasn't yours!

370Z_Fan 12-30-2009 08:30 PM

Mind if I ask which year, trim, and options is your car? How much did you pay out the door/on the road?

V8KILR 12-30-2009 09:46 PM

It's a 2010 6mt with the sport and nav, black interior. I'm waiting for the manager to get back to me with a confirmed price since I originally made a deal based on a 2009 model. I'm sure it will still be a decent deal since I've gone through a lot of crap with these guys and have been waiting since July.

Hey V8KILR. I just saw this thread. I'm from Ottawa too and just bought a 370Z from the same dealer (6M Carbon Silver, Sport + Nav, picking it up in the spring). I'm guessing the car in the ditch was the owner's car? He's been driving one around hasn't he? If I had seen that and thought it might be mine, I might have thrown up a little bit. Glad it turned out fine for you.

How are you 100% sure that is not the car you are buying?

- Ty

prichardson 01-30-2010 05:38 PM

I know it's not the car I'm buying since it's the wrong colour.

Hey, sorry for the late reply.
The owner drives a base model 2009 that he had last year. That's the one I test drove last July.
The one that was ditched was intended for me but they were lucky (or perhaps I was) that they received two identical cars at the same time. I physically inspected the damaged one and the tech certainly did a number on it. Close to $10,000 in damage. Two wheels and tires, a couple of rear suspension parts, body damage and even the front rad support to name a few. I was told that they were going to fix it and send it to auction.
