what do i do? a shop damaged my mold and trim

so if you read my previous thread i had tickets and one was to get my tints removed, im sooo pissed bc they dropped the tint ticket without me saying a word, BUT heres where the issue begins, on may 1st i went to tint king on kennedy, it was raining super hard but took some pics before i gave them the car to remove JUST the driver and passenger tints, i the process requires a razor and heat gun, i have one and heard them using it on mine and my car was the only one there to be worked on, got the car back and i did a check up and noticed burned marks on my rubber mold and weather stripping on the exterior driver side, he denied it, said they dont use heat guns, only a razor blade... i can guarantee they used a heat gun..... any suggestions? bbb cant really do much but i went ahead with that process already, going to send an email to get with the ontario.ca consumer protection act and lastly i was told to take them to small claims court and that will cost me around $500............. called nissan got the parts number and was quoted a bit over $500 for the repair. Its noticeable if you look at it and if your anal about your car which i am bc i take care of it, i love cars as im a car guy and i bought my Z new years back. I wish i never got it removed but i was worried theyd check it and find out i lied and give me a huge fine, a family friend had a ticket for tint and his car was checked out to see it was removed.

any other suggestions? i cant comprehend the fact that businesses can damage your vehicle than you have to dish out hundreds for court.. and even then you might not win.

ill post pics as soon as i make the file smaller

This happened to my passenger side rubber molding around the small porthole when my tint was being put on. Just use a bit of back to black. It will clean it up, almost, but not perfect.

damn this sucks. Id be doing the same thing if this had happened to my car

I guess that's a quick fix but I'm not going to let them think they can damage people's cars and get away with it and take their money. If I don't do anything they'll do it to the next guy.

Tint king 1213 kennedy

Take it in. Difficult to tell much from pictures. They may be able to fix it up on the spot.

Take the vehicle in on your time, maybe on the weekend. Let the manager know that you are a member of a few clubs and forums and that you have communicated this issue to the other members. You are expecting them to resolve this as social media and internet will light up if they don't.

I think I should do the same thing. Went to get the service done on my Z, also got CSC and Oil cooler put in, got the car back, brought it home, saw that there were scratch marks on the front (top right) of my bumper. Should I call and ask for $ for the damage the caused?

Which shop did you use? Do not procrastinate, call the shop asap. Speak to the manager and ask him to fix the damage they caused. Be nice but firm. Make sure the deal/agreement is in writing, an e-mail is fine. People forget what they promised.

Ahhhh, I do not want to give the name out here. I want to see what kind of response I get before I "release the Kracken". All I can say it was shop located in Mississauga known for the quality of their work and their character. Owner has stepped out, I 'll call him in a few and keep you posted.

Looking for our opinions and help, yet you don't want to share basic info with us??? Ya gotta give a bit to get a bunch, ya know? Suit yourself.

No, I agree with you. However, I don't want to release the name, good or bad experience unless something extremely bad went down.

Regardless, called up the shop, talked to the owner, he said it's not the first time this has happened. There's a rental car place next to them and the young more "eager" drivers are dead set on providing speedy service.

I was told to bring my car over and that he would take a look at the scuff and he would get his detailer to deal with it.

We are kind of a 'family' here, not many Z owners, even less Canadian Z owners. I say, help each other out where and when you can. I'm happy that the owner at least stepped up and is willing to make things right. That is the sign of a decent human being and a good businessman. BTW, I have heard good things about Boost Theory, 'assuming' of course this is the shop you took your Z to, the one beside the car rental place (Enterprise). Cheers. :rofl2:
