I took mine out yesterday after the roads sort of cleared up. I don't care if it's snowing... if I can get traction I'm driving.

i drive my G in that all the time. Keep it washed after a day out on the roads and there are no issues.

actualy it was -28 (going by what my 370z said)...lol. I been driving in this snow the last few days and never had a issue. I'm purposly power sliding around corners when traffic is low...other then that, no issues. Although i find it more dangerous to drive with the VDC on...damn thing kicks in and causes the car to react in a way im expecting it to react.

HEY!!
I'm glad to hear that some are ALSO keepin their Z trashin in the snow. OK. The big winter debate! I am totally Pro-370 for winter. (But I understand why most of them are hibernating) Winter Tires are a must! and... Winter Tires are a must! Because your looking at 18-19s it's gonna hurt but again, it's a must. I don't know if it'll actually do anything but I bought into some type of anti corrosion coating under my car. I hate salt. I guess this winter/summer will test if the stupid nitro in the tires will actually keep them from retracting/expanding. Someone already said something about washing his/her G after a tough day "at work". I wholehearted agree. This might mean getting your car washed every fcukin day there's snow (also freakin salt) on the ground. Thank God for Esso points - Do not use Petro Canada to wash your car, it's not touchless. I keep a bag of sand a blowdryer a flare and some beef jerky in that little space behind the drivers seat. You don't always have to wear boots, gloves, face mask, and head gear but it should always be somewhere tucked away in the car. I know we all have a pretty new car but check all your fluids once, and keep checkin the windsheid washer every couple weeks. Those of you that have taken out your spare tire for a bigger subwoofer or somewhat - put it back in. Make sure you have a fully charged cell phone everyday. Winter - pwnd |

Indeed, tires are a most. We had a freak snow fall here in edmonton couple weeks ago. I had a hard time getting out of my parking lot, then got stock at the base gym, couldnt get traction on the road at all. Now since i couldnt find any steelies that fit our cars. I bought new winter tires Dunlop Snow/Ice Tire, cost me $1500 but worth it. Although i find until i get cruising that the VDC is dangerous as **** to use. I'll either be accelerating at a decent pase or coming around a turn at a decent speed and the thing will kick in and it will cause me to either start a small fish tail or just go ape ****. I keep forgetting to buy a extention cord so i havent plugged the block heater in and with this -30*C weather it takes awhile for the car to heat up. Plus the clutch and shifter are stiff as ****. |

For driving in fresh snow I am just borrowing a car from my parents this winter, but next winter I am planning on mounting a dedicated set of winter wheels and tires.
This assumes I haven't purchased an SUV by then.

Mine has one. Factory unit, cost included in my price. I really didn't want one and I'm going to be removing it.
