Aftermarket Z performance parts in Canada
Who's the best/biggest/cheapest/best service etc around for Z parts north of the border? I'm specifically thinking about performance parts.
Shipping things like exhaust systems and the like are ridiculously expensive to ship across the border, not to mention all the duty, exchange - and let's be honest, the lack of instant gratification since it takes so long. Love to get some good referrals for suppliers that inventory and ship to my igloo and take payment in loonies. I'm sure at least Vancouver and Toronto must have some. There are parts dealers here at performance shops but most don't carry inventory so really it's the same thing just someone else ordering it for you. |

My research for the same has shown that most Canadian shops actually do not stock many Z aftermarket performance goodies. Most shops order the parts once you have paid in full and they appear to place a decent mark up on them as well. Best example is one popular shop in the GTA wanted me to pay up front for my FI CBE and wait three months. Instead I ordered it directly through FI, gave them a deposit of $300 USD. I believe your best bet is to order the parts directly online through ZSpeed, Z1, ConceptZ, etc. If you find someone, in the meantime, let us know. Cheers.

Look at using a brokers house, in Sweetgrass, and driving across the border to get your parts. Open a brokerage account and clear your own stuff with customs. Living in Calgary, your close enough to get it done in a day.

I agree. Oftentimes you can get free shipping to US locations such as Sweetgrass or Eureka (Montana) from US vendors. Simply order in bulk and pick up all the parts in one trip. The brokerage houses will hold the parts for a few weeks at nominal cost. Obviously, be open and honest when declaring the value of the parts to the customs folks.

I see that (AMS Motorsports) is in Canada; they have a part I've been looking for.
Never made a purchase there.

We have nothing in Calgary period. I bought everything either from US, Toronto or members on the forum (best way to get good parts at a lower cost).

Just curious what the deal is with them?
I did come across them on Google, and some of their prices are decent, and apparently in stock. I definitely don't want to get stung in any way so appreciate the heads up avoiding them, but wouldn't mind knowing why. Quote:
I came across some BC company that sounded pretty decent before but can't recall the name for the life of me. Seemed like they stock product too. |

I'd sent AMS an enquiry on some parts a few days ago and got a response now. They only stock their own AMS branded products. Everything else ships from the states, and is subject to duty etc anyways. Website pricing is in USD. They recommended I order from Concept Z instead for cheaper shipping.

Be careful of online sellers and "having parts in stock". Many of them are just storefronts and parts are drop-shipped from the manufacturer or warehouse. There is nothing wrong with this, but I ordered Hotchkiss grease able sway bar bushings in February and am still waiting.

Everytime I've ordered from Concept Z my shipping is almost double from anywhere else. That's why I will never order from them again lol
