AFAICT, the RE-11 is not available in 275. Will 285 versus 275 be OK on the rear OEM wheels of a touring sport, without any modification of anthing?

How many kms do you expect to get out of your rear RE-11?

It's not available as a 275/45 , it is available as a 275/30. I have my fingers crossed I don't run into traction control issues because I just ordered a set in 275/30 fr 325/30 rear for my 15' Nismo. I'm sure the rear will be no problem but the front has me worried now as theres a 1.05" difference in diameter.

285's you'll be fine :tup:


mileage on a tire is all based on the operator........... myself I burn through tires like I burn through work socks, I am not normal though.......

Our '14's tire sizes are 245/40/19 in front and 275/35/19 in the rear. Rather than 275/35 for the rear, I was thinking 285/35. The latter are relatively close to the OEM dimensions, as shown in the photo of the tire-table below. Only about a 1% difference in speedo reading.

Good that the 285 will go on there without hitting anything.

Forgive me for going even more OT here.

Although our vehicle does not need tires at the moment, it will in one or two more summers. I've been going back and forth in my head between the RE-11 and, believe it or don't, the Michelin Pilot A/S 3+, which I understand are tremendous all-round performers for all-season (but no snow) tires. Michelin does have some nice propaganda about these tires

I understand that summer tires aren't very grippy below 7 C, so that's one of the reasons I'm considering the Michelins. Tonight in Edmonton, for example, we are forecast to go down to +2 C, or even lower. Also, we'll be taking the occasional trip via the Icefields Parkway and the weather on that road can turn very cold and very wet very fast in any month of the year.

Another reason I'm considering the Pilots is that they have an asymmetrical tread design which I believe means that they can be rotated at least side to side in the rear without removing the tires from the wheels. Please tell me if I'm wrong on that.

The final reason is that I think that there's a good chance that the Pilots might have a good tread lifetime. The Pilots have a 70,000 km expected tread life, but I understand this changes for tires that have limited options for rotation. But I'd rather get 40,000 kms out of a set of tires than 20,000.

I'm running 265/35/19 front 285/35/19 rears.

I got about 16000 km out of my first set of rears fronts still have about 50/60% tread didn't measure.

I got a full new set. plan is next year to get new rears burn out fronts and swap to my old fronts.

mind you I am a bit spirited on launches and corners. you can even go as big as 305 in the rear... :tup:

last year I did 1/3 DD, 1/3 was weekend cruising and 1/3 road trip to cape Breton. it was well worth it imo. if you want to be a bit more budget pole s04's are a good alternative.

I can't say how good they are but all I can say is the re11's are fkin amazing and I hope they don't fully discontinue. they are a good set for track/weekend warrior (I don't track... yet)

I do find a bit of pull on certain roads with grooves... but that's cause **** roads not **** tires lol.

I still find my rear end can get a bit squirmish when I push it. heck I even chirp on left turns sometimes :ugh2:

You will, max 3%,,,that's about 3/4" diameter max difference/ those that you ordered are 1.1" difference....Christmas Tree effect.
Maybe they will let you trade for 265/35's front (only about .4" diameter difference)
275/35's are .1" difference,not sure if they are available in the RE11's

Just got my RE-11s put on today at Tires n Mags. Took almost 2.5 hours all in, but they were very good in mounting and balancing the tires. Only issue was that they didn't have a jack that would go around the pinch seam so had to jack up from the sub frame on the front which was tricky with a standard Jack. Other than that I would definitely recommend them because they got a great price and great service.

Also, these tires have crazy grip. Still need to get my alignment later today though.

How much was it for a set from them

yea I arrived early Saturday but they had a huge line. no one came after me ... well a few cars lol but fk I was upset. did a few burnouts behind the shop as well to loosen them up :rofl2:

1600 taxes in for 265/35/19 and 285/35/19 or something like that for me.
