Just had to share!
The Z is officially out for the season!!
In the event of snow, I still have my winter beater insured. Excited for the riding season... that and the Jays. Actually, while I'm typing this, I am thinking of getting an aftermarket Nav+screen for Z since i didnt get the nav package back when i bought the Z. Anyone in the GTA ever done this? Any recommendation locations? LMK. Happy riding :driving: |
First of all, I'm also equally pumped for both the riding season and the Jays! Lol... and secondly I've been exploring the idea of adding a Nav touch screen to my base model. I'm going to do a few other mods first before I go ahead with it but so far one of my front runners is the Pioneer I've seen a couple around the forum and it looks really clean and tidy as if it where an OEM piece which is key for me...
Anyways hope to see you out there Big C |
I've had mine on insurance since February because it has been so mild lol :P.
I add a pioneer to my base. Did the install myself. Very straight forward. Even had added the SiriusXM SAT add-on. Check it out: http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...34d8a78cb1.jpg If you have any questions, let me know and I'll try to help |

Where does one get this Pioneer deck!?! What model best fits? was it a straight replacement of the current, without added mounts/brackerts? Sorry being a newbie when it comes to the electronic side of car mods. Also (off topic but on topic of spring), i bought jays season tickets so if any fellow Z members are in need of some, just PM me. |
Thanks!
This one is a Pioneer 8100NEX and I purchased it off eBay. It was cheaper on eBay than from local stores at the time (bought it last year for another car and then it ended up on the Z....the dollar was better then). They all fit pretty well. You don't need a bracket or kit, you just use the existing ones off the stock Z stereo and it all sits in nicely :). You do need to buy a wiring harness though. Bought that off eBay as well. |
Woah! For sure interested in some Jays tickets lol I'll pm you :happydance:

eBay is the way to go. You don't need a dash kit though, only wire harness

You don't need a double din kit, you simply re-use the brackets that are currently installed on your stock radio. You do need a wire harness though: http://m.ebay.ca/itm/PLUGS-INTO-FACT...049?nav=SEARCH Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
You'll also need the antenna adapter.
|
Oh that's right, i forgot. Also, if you want, get a mini-usb to usb adapter. That way you can connect the usb wire that goes from your mid-console to the new Pioneer deck

I'll chime in a little, If you have BOSE then you'll need the double din dash kit.
If you have the base, then you won't need a double din dash kit! http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/1...ml#post3304029 zefaulter has kindly listed the different types out at the link above. |

Not sure why it would be any trouble or hassle. You literally re-use the oem brackets. Thats weird Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
If your car has bose headunit then you'll need a dash kit.

Oh, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Looking to install my own head unit in my base model myself (no experience with this stuff). Just to confirm, all I need is:
-a double din head unit -370z wiring hardness -antenna adapter (what is this for)? Do I need anything else to ensure the steering wheel controls work, or does the wiring harness take care of that? Also I'm looking at install a AVH-X2800BS. Any thoughts/experience with this one? I just want BT smartphone connectivity (for music and calls) and a screen for reverse camera. |
probably best to go to the audio section... got some helpful people there
|
That's it, except the steering wheel control, you'll need either the Maestro or AWSC-1. I have 1 (AWSC-1) that stopped working on mine after a FW update on my deck, fine without the steering wheel controls.
