Just seeing how many canadians have gotten the CSC failure issues. I've seen the CSC spreadsheet and seems like even new 2015-2016 models are getting it with very low mileage.

Have you had difficulty getting the dealership to cover the repairs or has it come out of your own pocket? Looking to purchase a 2016 370z in the next few weeks for a spring delivery so just doing some initial research. |

there's a guy in western Canada with 300k on his car and went through a few... 4 if i recall. they all varied in when they 'blew up' and but the shortest duration was a few thousand but that was due to a clutch pressure issue or something like that.
I'm under 39k on a 2012 and haven't had any issues but doing a pre-emptive strike before my road trip. the speculation to fast failing csc's is you're beating the clutch like a single guy beats himself at night. don't drop the clutch, consistent pressure and movement and don't use it more than you need to tends to do better lifespan. have you considered purchasing an lightly used z and save the extra cash for mods + maintenance instead? ie the csc/msc replacement, cbe, intakes, forced induction etc? or just buy an auto =P |

Dealership should cover it under the 3 year/36K mile bumper to bumper warranty that comes with the car. Beyond that mileage you'll need to make sure the warranty covers it.
Plan to fix the issue down the road if you buy new and plan to keep it long term (I did around 51K miles). Don't worry about it if you plan to get rid of the car in a couple years.

you believe is right :P
I just said member because.. well 'member' another thing is, while it may be nice to get the warranty to possibly cover, I would strongly consider/advise of getting an aftermarket csc (Z1 and ZSPEED have their own) and the OEM MSC. the MSC needs to be replaced to satisfy the warranty liability from those manufacturers. hope to see another Z on the road... let us know if/when you get it! |

Yep, as mentioned I've gone through a few, but most of the problems I had with short term life was a stiffer pressure plate, with all stock parts I was over 200,000 kms before the original one went and i'm over 100k with the new one, and all stock clutch kit.

Also getting the nismo with VPP so I save a bit. I'm coming from a 2004 black 350z which I've been driving over 10-11 years I'm old and grumpy so don't want to deal with the headache of grabbing parts, dealing with horrible ups/fedex, or having the car sit at the mechanic/body shop. So it looks like us canadians have had better luck with the CSC or....there's not that many of us now |

was repaired under warranty in a day and a half, and so far so good. I'll still be replacing the clutch etc just to avoid the future headache |

i think the cooler weather helps. i think the csc is from Germany or something. works great until it doesn't. then it just... breaks there are a lot of alternatives to get aftermarket parts now... I've had good experience with shippers lately. fml... that's sad to hear. you should def save up for some aftermarket csc/msc. |

My 2016 nismo csc went at 1k miles. Also test drove a 16 sport and it failed at 6 miles on the test drive.

I said this at your original post (Original CSC post) long time ago but I will repeat it Again. This is insane! You should mail a letter to Nissan with your story and a link to this (and the other massive csc thread)
