Sad, but true...

I must report that because of the almost record early snowfall in and around the Edmonton area, that the 370 is now officially parked for the winter. Sad but true.

Default Sad, but true...

I must report that because of the almost record early snowfall in and around the Edmonton area, that the 370 is now officially parked for the winter. Sad but true. Stupid weather! At my location west of Edmonton, we have had 6 inches of snow and about 4 inches has remained on the ground.

So..... I'll see the roads again in mid March to early April.

It's the powdery version of that clear cold thing in your drink.

And no, snow tires are not an option with me. She'll stay parked for the duration. I have a Civic that gets most of the commuter/winter duty.

Nothing. My Z is parked inside a heated garage. I start the engine weekly to keep the oil "flowing". Besides that, nothing.

(Except waiting for winter to end!! )

Best practice would be to get an oil change before you store her, fill her up with some fresh fuel and over inflate your tires to prevent flat spots...
At least that's the checklist I would follow.

I've not given up yet. The roads were almost dry driving home from work, although the ditches have some snow. With warm temperatures in the forecast for tomorrow, hope to make this a Z weekend as much as possible. Supposed to get some good weather until Nov. so DON'T GIVE UP YET.

Yeah, but you live N.E. of Edmonton. I live on the ridge, west and a little north of Edmonton. We get most of the weather here first before you guys. AND, most of the precipitation falls here. For example.... Edmonton got 2.5 inches of snow in the past three days. I got 6.7 inches at my property. The roads are snow covered from the Yellowhead highway north of Spruce Grove. There's not a chance I'm taking the Z out on that.

This morning (Thursday), the roads were so bad that I was doing only 60kms/h most of the way into Edmonton. And that's with a Civic with great tires.

I know, I know.... we'll probably get "some" better weather before it really hits. And I guess it's just like sex.... it aint over 'till it's over. But this is really depressing. Not being able to enjoy a full power burn in the Z until late March or early April.

I could just cry...

I suddenly pity my Canadian friends...................damn only 7 months of Z season..................................

Here in CT we'll see snow, but it's not often that it hangs around for long. I can't imagine not driving it in the winter. One of the reasons I'm getting it (just a few more weeks, w00t) is that my motorcycles don't see much road during the winter.

Thanks for the understanding but sometimes even 7 is pushing it. However, I did get out today, and drove on frozen slush until I got to the main highway which was dry (but cold). So, I got one more day in and hope to tomorrow as well. Edmonton roads were in good shape and hope that 6MT's roads clear up for him. We still have snow at home and almost makes me cry to see the slush dripping off on the shop floor. Oh well.... had fun anyway.
