New 2016 model Z annouced to dealers
Was at a Nissan dealer to-day and he showed me an e-mail from Nissan Canada, that they just got yesterday, announcing a new model ,an Enthusist model starting production April 2015,proably for 2016 model year, starting at 29999.00.!!!Apparently it will be a stripped down version of the Z.Considering in Canada a base starting current price of $39999 currently, this will be an interesting direction for the Z car.Still nothing on The Nissan site yet though even though this has been rumored as coming soon for a couple years.

So a sucky new Z?

Local dealer received this. Sorry it's in french but basically it's a 370Z touring stripped down even more to be able to sell it for 30k. No thanks.

Well I prefer my cars with all options also, but as it stands today ,that means over 50K in Canada with taxes etc...The Z is packaged with not many options to not get certain features.I think a 30K to 35K 370Z may be a way to get more new owners, especially younger buyers with less annual income. Then you can add what you want as you can afford it and if your smart ,end up with a nicer car to your liking.Or just buy a used one loaded.

Cool, my schoolboy French translates "Glaces electriques avec ouverture/fermeture monotouch" as "fast glass" .....
Spare a thought for us poor buggers down-under where the list will be $A50K+ (at 0.8 per USD) ..... |
People need to be aware that the only Z model available in Canada for the last few years was the Touring model, with the Sport Package available as an option. It appears that this so-called stripped-down "enthusiast's" model is simply the U.S. Base model that is now being introduced into Canada.

This new base model should give brz or Frs for a run for lts money in terms of sales. Since they will be similar priced and 370z is heck a lot faster. I am so tired of seeing those brz/Frs all over the place.

With Nissan Canada there is only thing I can think of that was better to get here in Canada over the USA and that would be the 40th A.E. 370Z (but that's just because of the options Nissan Canada selected for our 40ths, they came fully loaded) :stirthepot: lol buying anything else like non 40th - fully loaded Z34, Nismo or GTR they would all be better to get in the states price and options wise…. |
The base model Z doesn't seem to do it for the US crowd, however, in regards to the FRS/BRZ. Still see far more of those than the Z. I like the exclusivity but not if it hurts the brand to the point where they stop coming out with new Zs and put a halt on Nissan's affordable sports car efforts.

It looks like the 2016 model is going to be the same body/engine as the 2015. Good price for sure. I wonder what dealer cost would be.

i liked how the Z is more rare than a porche/m3/m5 in toronto... i've seen more R8's over the winter than 370's... (although a few 350's there) heck even more m4's out and about.
that said it'll be nice to see more on the road... to a certain degree. atleast it's not a mustang |

From what i'm seeing it comes with cloth seats, no synchro rev match, basic radio, it says it has VDC but no mention of LSD. They list it as 29,998 MSRP but i'm willing to bet they will be selling them for 32-33k, we always get the shaft. |
