Coming soon Z1 2 piece 370Z Akebono front rotors, track tested.

Already installed on the Z1 370Z company car these new 2 piece rotors will be available for sale soon. The benefits of a 2 piece rotor include reduced rotating weight, better heat transfer, and as a result higher resistance to warping.

Track tested at Talledega Grand Prix and Harris Hill these rotors will be on the shelf and ready to ship soon.

Dustin@Z1 10-09-2009 06:15 PM

These are still in the development stages... So no worries Mike, we'll give you a shout when we get them in stock.

dcrew1x 10-09-2009 08:09 PM

sweet!

NewYorkJon34 10-09-2009 10:02 PM

Those look awesome, I've been waiting for a company to come out with 2-piece slotted only rotors. I hope they are not real expensive tho.

WShade 10-09-2009 10:17 PM

Those will match perfectly with my Solid Red.

NewYorkJon34 10-09-2009 10:25 PM

I'm glad they have a white Z, no guesses to what the parts will look like. I hope they make the middle of the rotor black instead of red.

RedComet 10-10-2009 06:50 AM

Looks great! Everytime I see those Advans I go crazy.

Man, everytime I walk in the shop this car gets my blood moving. We may offer the brakes in different colors.

Brake mod newby here...

When you were testing the rotors on the track what pads were you running?

Thanks

Island_370 10-10-2009 06:16 PM

Are they floating rotors, or just 2 piece rotors with aluminum hats?

We tracked it on the stock pads to see how they would do. We will be taking the car back to the track on different pads. Yes the stock pads are now toast.

Here is a link to the Speed for Sale track event.Events we host

But I still had an outstanding question on that..

Does each rotor drop 5 pounds or is it ONLY a 5 pound reduction for both of the rotors?

If it is a 5 pound reduction for both rotors together, IMO this is not a big bonus for me and drops this brand off my list. I would also wonder why Akebone could only drop 5 pounds, but RB could drop about 10 pounds PER rotor....

FuszNissan 10-13-2009 02:55 PM

Looks nice

Endgame 10-30-2009 11:34 AM

Any new news on these????

Equinox 12-08-2009 06:53 PM

5 pounds total it would seem. Not per rotor. Correct me if I'm wrong.

theDreamer 12-08-2009 06:56 PM

Anything new here?

RCZ 12-09-2009 03:39 PM

He said 5lbs per set, not per corner.

NewYorkJon34 12-09-2009 04:55 PM

Are these available to purchase yet?

JakeZ34 12-10-2009 07:44 PM

so yes waiting on this as well. when can we expect this?

M.Bonanni 12-16-2009 03:47 PM

+1 on availability. I will be needing to replace my rotors very soon and don't want to go with 1-piece if I don't have to.

RCZ 12-25-2009 09:00 PM

So when. These were supposed to be out by now :(

Same boat as ^ Mr. Bonanni.

Sorry guys, it will be worth the wait. We're still street testing with different pads to make sure everything is going to be good.

NewYorkJon34 01-11-2010 12:08 PM

Waiting on the 2-piece slotted rotors as well...

Mike, I'll sell you my StopTech 1-piece slotted front rotors to tied you over, still in excellent condition. 3000 miles, no track on these, just auto-x.

Thanks but I need all four rotors. :(

370z4Steve 01-11-2010 01:08 PM

what is the expected price of these?

JakeZ34 01-13-2010 02:38 AM

^ I agree, what is the expected price on those? I'm thinking about upgrading the brakes to ss line and rotors, almost pulled the triggers on the 1 piece slotted and drilled rotors, but if there is a 2 piece coming out I'll wait for it, but any word on how much longer?

armensti 01-13-2010 03:17 AM

any info on the price :excited:

inTgr8r 02-04-2010 02:27 PM

Any updates???
Ball park price & availability.

I didn't see any info on the hats.
Are the aluminum?
