Coming soon Z1 2 piece 370Z Akebono front rotors, track tested.

Also any brake pad suggestions? I don't plan on taking it to the track, something that doesn't make alot of noise when stopping & won't kick up alot of brake

Slotted rotors last about the same, the main difference is that they typically can't be resurfaced. They tend to groove less but are a little harder on pads.

I don't know much about the street pad options, I'm still using the stock pads for the street. I know EBC Red are known for low dust but I haven't seen anyone try them on the 370 yet.

Dang I didn't know rotors lasted that long, I thought you had to replace them at a certain number of miles. What do you mean by "can't be resurfaced"? I don't mind trying them (Ebc Red) as long as they are better then stock & are a good brand since I've never heard of them.

Best to get some street pad advice from someone that's tried them in these cars or a 350.

Rotors last a long time in street driving conditions. The only reason to replace them is if they warp, crack, or scour. You can get at least 1 resurfacing out of the stock rotors if necessary.

Resurfacing refers to removing the surface layer of metal from the face of the rotor using a brake lathe. This is only necessary if the rotors are scored (grooving).

EPIC REVIVAL:

I was at Z1 today to get my car tuned (302 whp) and one of the guys pointed to a 2-piece rotor sitting on the counter. YUP IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!!!!
He explained to me how the curved vanes are a better design than the DBA kangaroo paws for cooling and weight. And that replacements would cost in the 400's.
They are still working on 2 piece rears, since it's been difficult because our rears are so thin.
This is 6 lbs lighter than DBA, 2 lbs lighter than CZP. I think I'll be going for these next summer $650

Z1 2 Piece Akebono Front Rotors

Yep, I actually purchased these last night DarkJak. Waiting on them to come in now.

To tie in with what some others said the only company i know who does 2 piece rears for Sport breaks is Relentless Autosports but they require you to put a spacer in your rear caliper....that and i personally dont like the company.....but to be fair others have had great results.
RN SHARK and DarkJak like this.

I'm running the Racing Brake 2 piece rotors. Front and rear.

Our lightest 2-piece rotor are now on sale (gain hp, check dyno testing)

Is the price for the front set or per rotor?

The Racing Brake fronts.

Two-piece rotor (Open Slot) - 370Z (Sport) FRONT 2009

The rears.

Two-piece rotor (Open Slot) - 370Z (Sport) REAR 09-11

Not cheap. But you get what you paid for. I would PM them for pricing though.

Or you could pay less for the z1 rotors and get a quality item too.

I follow a lot of what Z1 does and know there's a lot of real track testing that is done.
