Banjo Bolt Sizes?
 

Does anyone know the actual size of the Banjo Bolt for the rear calipers? im installing a set of SS brake lines and it didnt come with the banjo bolts. Everything i seem to find in the local auto parts stores dont seem to have the right size. Anyone have experience in this?

I had some issues when converting my wife's 350z to Akebono and never found the correct banjo bolts locally.

FWIW, Nissan calls them "union bolts"
Nissan union bolt may have a helpful link but I was too lazy to dig through all that.

That explains why when I dug through (and the dealership did), looking for a banjo bolt we never found anything.

a buddy of mind had some for his Lexus that fit our cars but i didnt have enough for the rear. lemme see what i can find, thanks guys!

Doesn't really surprise me that parts dept didn't know. Back in The Good Old Days, the guy behind the counter would have known that banjo bolt = union bolt. Heck, "The bolt that connects the brake line to the caliper assembly. The one with the hole in it" would have been good enough. Nowadays you're lucky if you find one that knows what a banjo bolt looks like or does. Yeah, I'm a grumpy old man. ;)

You just wrote out what I tried to explain to them, bolt with a hole for fluid to travel through, the guys face...:icon14:

Try to find a different dealer to get your OEM parts from. Maybe you can find one in your area that has a counter person that knows what they are doing.

For those times that you don't have your FSM handy, Courtesy Parts has a lot of 'sploded diagrams that can be very helpful when trying to ID parts.

our stock sport brakes dont take these kind of bolts though. they are hard lines mixed with rubber so its more aftermarket

any idea what the thread pitch/size is of the brake line to the caliper?

I gotta believe that's on the Web somewhere but I didn't see it. If you have one handy, break out the calipers and thread gauge.

I might have to take the cable to Lowes and get the actual male size...

I might be wrong but I think its M10X1

I got some coming in that size so we'll see
