alignment after new wheels?
I recently changed wheels from base 18's to 19x11 r and 19x9.5 front. Question is , after changing wheel size and offset should I have the alignment done? Didn't notice any issues with the old set when I took them off. I would hate to Jack up the new tires.

I think you're always safest to have an alignment done with a new set of tires. I just put on a new set of Michelin PSS and had an alignment done. Stockers were wearing evenly too but it was some peace of mind to know my $1500 set of tires wouldn't get jacked up early. My alignment wasn't too bad but I still think it was worth the $70 just to know for sure. Plus I had never had my car aligned after a year of some pretty hard driving.

You got to be out of this world to think you need alignment every time you change tires. Look at how your old tires are wearing out, if you see anything usual or feel anything usual while driving, then go for it. Otherwise, save your $100.

I'm in the camp of get the alignment, especially with spirited driving. It doesn't cost that much and it's good insurance given the expense of performance tires.

If your old tires were wearing OK and the steering felt good, an alignment is probably not necessary ... but I'm with the guys that think you ought to get it checked anyway - it's cheap and you never know what you'll find. The place where you bought the tires (or any place you do regular business with) may give you a quick check for free if you ask.

Wheels bolted to the hub face. That's where an alignment changes. Unless you lowered, changed toe, camber etc, wheels and tires don't do anything.

Thanks for all the input. Appointment on Monday. I'm still having trouble finding a shop I can really trust with the Z. There r a couple of custom wheel shops in town that use the touchless machines and have a lift that can get under a lowered ride. I did find a dealership that does good work.. that's hard to find

A lot of places will do a free alignment check anyway, so you might as well at least have it checked out. Just cause your tires dont have any funny wear on them, doesnt mean that a problem isn't JUST starting and the tires wont show it yet.
