depending on car sometimes i use a spark plug socket if the shaft spins but has a hex to hold.

I got the new strut installed. There was a mark\nick on the shaft of the last one from the vice grip.

Got everything lined up nice, no issues putting anything back together. I notice a spring creeking noise when I back out of the driveway. To keep from scraping, I turn starp and go out slow. I can hear the creeking noise backing out and going in. No other noises and I don't hear it any other time. I did move the the isolators (plastic spring wrap) from the stock springs to the swift springs. Any reason I would hear the spring?

are you talking about when you drive off the curb of your driveway?

try some silicon grease were the spring contacts the top rubber mount. if that doesnt take care of it, it could be that your swaybar bushing on one side is making the noise at those extreme torsion angle. try some white lithium grease.
