I wanna replace my rotors and brake pads, ive heard some things about slotted rotors vs regular rotors saying slotted is no good cause u need more to dissipate heat.

I wanna replace my rotors and brake pads, ive heard some things about slotted rotors vs regular rotors saying slotted is no good cause u need more to dissipate heat. I need to order today, could I get some recommendations and advise?

Best bang for your buck:
Z1 2 Piece Akebono Front Rotors The slots on the rotor are to remove gas build up that is generated under heavy braking. HowStuffWorks "Drilled Brake Rotors" You can run with drilled and slotted just fine if you don't drive at 10/10th's all the time. If you track regularly then you should spring for slotted only. |

For what it's worth... I have the Z1 Drilled and Slotted front rotors and have noticed slight a performance increase with them, less rotational mass.
I also tortured them on US129 (the dragon) @ Zdayz and had zero issues with warping. |

I've used drilled rotors for years and never had an issue with drilled rotors. I have only seen that issue if someone was pulling a heavy load with a diesel truck had drilled rotors. In that case, I would opt for standard rotors and add an exhaust brake.

I have no idea on the life of your current rotors. I was only helping with the original question. Maybe you don't even need to worry about spending money on rotors. You can have your old rotors turned on a lathe if they have lots of metal left. Front brakes are about 75% of your stopping power so I don't think you can go wrong spending money there. |
