I am holding the stud from spinning while tightening the nut. I made sure I had them all set before we left for Montana and were on our way back now and it has started knocking again about 2300kms later.

Replace the nuts with self locking nylon nuts and double nut them.
I might have a few extra around, let me know if you need some.

Did you ever get this problem fixed? I have the exact same symptoms (clunking, creaking noises at low speeds), but my nuts are tight on the endlinks and I don't have a problem with them coming loose. But I'll check again tomorrow to make sure.
Are you sure the noise is caused by loose nuts or is it something else? And it's a bit strange why they keep coming loose... |
